D-VHS JVC deck availability?

Thread Starter
Anyone know anymore about the US availability of this deck (JVC HM-DH30000?

"None of the current solutions, however, can record high-definition TV (HDTV). JVC claims that its new D-VHS deck is the world's first stand-alone digital VCR that can play back and record any and all HDTV signals.

"The HM-DH30000 is capable of recording 28 megabits per second," explained Rob Payesko, national product manager of JVC's Consumer Video Division, "which is true 1080i native; and it'll do it for 3.5 hours on a single tape."

Should be around $2,000 and I here should be out around mid year, anyone have any further info on this ultimate deck?

I heard in the threads that it is currently available in Asia. Maybe you could get one shipped from Tokyo or Hong Kong if you're in a rush?

Cheers,

That would be a no go. I looked into that. If he really wants one like that though there is one on ebay right now. It only has a IEEE1394 input, and japanese component out are D connectors and not your standard RCA looking cables (though I'm sure u can get a convertor for it).
