Some noise of recordings from Pioneer 225

When recording a show from Tivo to DVD I am getting some digital noise only in the top 3 or 4 rows of pixels. The rest of the screen looks fine. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Bry

I have a Pioneer 225 and Tivo and I don't have this problem.
Are you certain it's because of your recorder and not the discs??

I don't think it is the discs. I had originally purchased an iLO recorder. I had the same problem with that except that the noise manifested in the form of flashing whiteness which was very annoying. That machine used +RW not -RW. Not to mention that the disc I am using is the one that came with the recorder. I would hope that they would give me a disc that would work with the machine.

Is the digital noize:

1) On some shows?
2) look like a binary counting sort of way?
3) When you play on a tv or just a computer?

I see this only when editing on the computer. It is not there when viewing on the TV. Overscan I'd guess.

Good. If only the computer. Then dont worry. That is the overscan area anyway.

Basically its in effect "data". Have seen it some times on Enterprise and other shows. Other can tell you exactly { thinks its timecode data } what its called but a mood point.

It sounds like the vertical blanking interval to me. It's perfectly normal.
