New Mac HTPC?

this would be cool, but with no PCI or AGP slots you cannot give it a better video card or internal TV tuners. the idea of having a bunch of external USB tuners is not the prettiest solution. Plus only 1.25 Ghz G4 is pretty week and lack of digital audio out are deal killers here.

And no HTPC software to speak of.

However, the eyeTV firewire HD tuner is technically superior to the MyHD and HiPix in terms of reception. The software offers different features as well with some drawbacks. Being Firewire and USB based they don't have to be placed in or near the HTPC either. The USB sonica works perfectly for audio output and is unobtrusive.

Because this is Apple we're talking about. Neither the eMac or iMac have AGP or PCI slots. You think they'd give a sub-$600 Mac these? I doubt it...

I'd love a Mac HTPC, but don't think this is gonna be it.
