PS. Can you point me to the location of a HDV files by PM so that I can forward to the engineers for testing?
It may also be that the SB USB does not offer all of the functions as a standard sound card, so swapping may answer that issue right away, but I am a little puzzled by the differences in how the on-board S/PDIF of the MyHD works, which should have no bearing on if you have a sound card.
I'm sure you are, but I have to ask, you are changing the sound settings in MyHD config as you go, right?
Well, this is still puzzling. I've installed the 120 that wouldn't play back MPEG audio from an HDV file into a completely different system and I get the same result. No change. All other sound plays back fine through the system, whether MyHD S/PDIF or the computer's sound system, but this particular 120 just doesn't like MPEG audio from HDV clips. It identifies the audio as MPEG (when I hit the audio button on the remote), but it won't play it. The other 120 and the 130 have no difficulty with the clips.
A resolution would be nice, but I'm upgrading this MyHD system to another 130. I have a friend who wants the 120. I'll let him know about the anomaly, but I don't want to waste any more time troubleshooting, since I have an easy out. I tried several other fixes with additional codecs, but nothing worked. The only difference between this card and the other 120 and the 130, as far as I know, is the age. This card is the oldest.
If anyone else has this issue, it would be interesting to know about.
