The 2 dvd special edition features DD 5.1 and DTS 6.1 audio, anamorphic widescreen, audio commentary with Ridley Scott, interview with composer Hans Zimmer, some deleted scenes, etc.
Yes, there are a numbeer of sites to mention this date, BUT we are still to here from the horses mouth. Till then its as good as here say.
respectfully,
Eric
I just pre-ordered mine, too. Good price!!! ($17.99). That's encouraging, because DVD Express, which has traditionally been my favorite pancake house, seems to be boosting its prices lately, and is now showing up with items on backorder--never before seen by these eyes.
James, Nick,
I'm confused. While DVD Express HAS ANNOUNCED Nov 21 and are taking orders, I think there is no official release date by Dreamworks. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Eric
Dreamworks made the announcement today. It promises to be one of the very best DVD's ever offered to the public. Also Crowe's first movie ROMPER STOMPER has also been announced.
Lee,
YES YES YES, Brilliant!
I just tracked down the announcement. According to many sources this will be the MOTHER of all dvd's. Lets hope it lives up to expectations.
Amongst the many features are FOUR hours of extra material + 7 minutes of a special montage put together by the editor and goodness knows what else. Man, now I have to work day and night to get this HT room/extention built, finished and ready.
Brett,
I told dreamworks to make 1 copy less for france http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/rolleyes.gifhttp://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gifhttp://www.avsforum.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Which online ordering place would you be most likely to get the DVD in your mailbox on or before the release date? I remember hearing stories from some people where they got their preordered movies up to a few days before the release date by ordering online, but don't remember where they ordered from. Anyone with experience?
Thanks!

Just pre-ordered mine from dvdexpress.com, and I can't wait. Believe me, I'm ticking off the days on the calendar. This was my favourite movie of the year. I can't wait to watch the opening scene on the battle scarred plains of Germania.
"At my signal, unleash hell."

"You what the difference between you and me is? I make this look good."
It's stille playing here. I think I'll go see it again. It was the only really memorable film of the summer. I'm not pre-ordering it yet. Prices are dropping on DVDs and I'm thinking this one will be heavily discounted the week it comes out. I'm gonna take my chances on that....
I ordered the region 2 dvd from amazon.co.uk as well as the region 1 from amazon.com in the hope that the extra lines of resolution PAL provides will really make this movie shine. I hope this disc is reference quality for both regions! Now I just have to get a projector and HTPC, which I should have by the end of November!
