Picked this up yesterday on PAL R2. Really enjoyed watching this last night with some friends.
This movie is pretty much in the mold of the other Guy Richie creation 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. Some great twists and turns, comic moments along with much sinister ganster goings on make this film a must for your collection.
The acting, filming, action scenes and even the music help to give it a real fresh modern pop culture feel.
As for the dvd quality. Well, the transfer did look a little murky in some parts but I think this was more deliberate than anything else. After all, London IS a pretty grey murky place most of the time and you wouldent expect to see Shanghai Noon colours in a dark and dreary warehouse that stages dog fights and unlicenced boxing.
Sound quality is on par with most 5.1 mixes today. The well chosen music tracks have a lot of punch (no pun intended). Dialogue is crisp and clear, but even this will prevent you from understanding Brad Pitts gypsy Irish accent. This should be at the top of your buy list.
