YEA!

Now if only they would make a limited edition using the full 720x480 DVD pixel area. Then you could play it back on a CRT projector by going as wide as you can and reducing vertical size until you get the 2.76:1 aspect for a wicked cool presentation.

I believe they made a mistake when they created the DVD specifications. They never should have encoded black bars. The spec should have allowed for downconverting to 16/9 as well as 4/3 for movies wider then 16/9.

In the month of March, 2 of these very rare films will be released in their OAR of 2.76:

The Greatest Story Ever Told - 3/6/01

Ben Hur - 3/13/01

It is still "rumored" that The Fall of the Roman Empire will be released on 4/10 but there is no information about OAR or sound format.

That's 3! 7 more to go.
