Ahhhh, NO. The 815 is not a dumbed-down 1014. The 815 is its own receiver. It is a great value, but it is not at the level of the 1014/1015. A general trend in the industry is to offer more features each year on all the receivers in the product line. Even the entry level receivers are well equiped these days. The manufacturers realize that these features aren't just fluff, and the consumers actually use them, and therefore, expect them to be there.
Some of the spec listings for the 815 online have been incorrect. The 815 is only 100 x 7. Not, 110 x 7.
