It was announced today that the upcoming switch to copy protected HDTV content via 5C and HDCP will allow 'true HDTV' to be broadcast for the first time.
Up till now, only bandwidth limited HDTV has been broadcast.
Protected content will be bandwidth limited to current quality when output via analog interfaces but will be shown in full 1920:1080 resolution via the HDCP enabled display.
Those who are currently satisfied with the quality of 'HDTV' via their analog interface displays will continue to be able to view the same quality that they are used to.
Was this a dream or a nightmare? I'm not sure....... http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif
