Rear or front projection for best 16:9 viewing ?

I'm getting pretty hot on HDTV, close to taking the plunge.

A 16:9 rear projection set can get quite big (I wouldn't go below 55"). LCD or DLP front projection looks like a logical setup, particularly because a RP set has that extra semi-illuminated space when viewing 4:3 or a distorted image or both, which I find distracting.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks, George

16:9 FP is fantastic. I have a 10ht (which is native 16:9) and a 110" Grayhawk, for DVDs and HDTV content I love it. I have watched a few 4:3 shows but I do so rarely. The projector is in the HT room and I have placed a WEGA 36xbr400 in the family room for casual 4:3 viewing. As most content is 4:3 today it IMO it is just practical to have a 4:3 TV for your just sitting around watching TV time then use the projector when you want to watch some good HD content or a DVD.

Regards,

Brian
