Simon was spot on with his comments last night. What sucks is that he was right about Bo and he will lose when they make them start singing all the corny crap that makes the show unwatchable to us guys. They really should make an a show for non balled corney singers like BO where they can sing like adults

I say bring in the instrument playing also. I'm pulling for Bo, but don't know if the rest of America will. He and Anwar seem to be the only ones bringing a little personality to the table.

Even if Bo doesn't win I have a feeling he'll still get signed (like Clay did). Or at least his rates as a wedding singer will go way up.

I think you're right...there must be some kinda broadcast flag to prevent people from skipping thru the commercials...what a krock!

Concerning recordability of shows -- I've experienced alot of anomalous behavior lately. Checked my tape of The Contender to find that it cut out about halfway through, though the reciever was getting the program.

One local triggers a shut down of the timer ten minutes before the show ends even though station time shows to be correct when I check afterwards as well as when I program it in. It works properly on every other station though. The same local when I tape two shows straight through, after one show will start the next following one with a cycling in and out of the recording speed on the DVHS unit -- which means that the recording is obliterated.

I had to switch reciever/DVHS combos on my recording of AI as it was not triggering correct speed to begin with -- thus NO recording when I get home. One does indeed wonder what is arising in the bitsteam to induce such things -- the problems seem specific to specific channels, thereby fueling the paranoia that some "tinkering" is going on. Otherwise the units themselves seem to work fine.

Fortunately I adjusted for "variables" last might and caught the show so will predict with authority as many of you have that Travis and Constantine are shortly to bow out.

I don't believe this to be true. I recorded the show on an HD TiVo, and blasted through the commercials with no problem.

HD stations just recently (Feb 1 I believe) had to start complying with the PSIP requirements and that has been giving some receivers fits when the stations don't quite follow the spec.

Travis was terrible. As much as I liked his version of My Cherie Amor a couple of weeks ago, this time he was really off pitch, as was Nikko for most of his song. Anthony Federov was pretty good this time and is a likable guy, but no magic.

Constantine actually sounded good last night. He, Bo, and Mario are the charismatic guys. And I think Scott has possibilities. Anwar I'm not sure about.

A really strong group of male singers. If you don't like these guys you really shouldn't be watching the show because the men's talent is much better than in previous years.

Lot's of great guys last night. Anyways, Anthony Fedorov's biggest fans had a viewing party...on a high definition TV! There's a pic here on this page . The mp3 of his performance on that page is from my HD card recordings. I'm providing HD screencaps to the Fedorov group.

anyone noticing the lipsync issues on FOXW 89, it's definitely a D* problem, OTA feed is fine.

must be my motorola 6208 with the upgraded guide I guess because it did it last night also but....I recorded it on my D-VHS also and just watched it that way.

Anwar and Nadia as the final two. Bo could bump Anwar from that spot, if he has more performances like "Whipping Post" -- that one was special.

Janay, definitely. She is horrible. Amanda may get another shot. She has great potencial. I believe Lindsey is weaker than Amanda. Best performance delivered by Ms Turner ;)

Mikalah, Janay, Travis, Constantine to exit tonight -- I assert this with some authority as they were the weakest performances this week. But as always, I suppose we have to wait for Seacrest to finalize my picks.

Those would be my picks too. A shame really because I like Travis and Constantine, but they were the worst performances this week.

I wouldn't watch this show if I couldn't FF through 75% of it.

Mikalah makes my skin crawl. You just know she has a "stage mother" type pushing her to act so stupidly. Janay looked and sounded like a first weeker. She's gone.

I recorded AI on the 6412 last night and sure enough...I couldn't fast forward or rewind (I had only been rewinding live TV Monday). If I stopped it, it wouldn't resume either (starts over at the beginning).

Needless to say...I didn't watch past the first commercial break. I'll have to use the LG from now on to record this show.

Since I didn't see all the performances I can only say this: Amanda isn't (or at least shouldn't be) going away this week. AND...if Janay stays around, I will boycott the show for the rest of the season.

It's too hard to pick only two girls to go home. I think Mikalah might get a little sympathy voting based on previous performances, but I think she's battling for the bottom with Lindsey, Janay, and Amanda.
