Grey's Anatomy on ABC - Page 31

What you should think is that many of the actors are negotiating contracts. Who survives depends on who signs on the bottom line. "Falcon Crest" used to do this on a regular basis back in the day.

Unfortunately for the season finale, it won't be much of a cliffhanger since the news is already out about who has inked contracts for the upcoming season this fall. It takes very little effort to find out, but I'm not going to be the one to tell you.

Maybe they consider it a 2 part finale, although it wasn't presented that way....

Other than the plane crash and the main protagonist lying down face up, I'll be looking for more LOST clues tonight..

That ringing kept going off, I thought the smoke monster was going to flutter by.

There was a lot going on in that episode for sure. As for Lexie, Chyler Leigh must have a new gig. I hate to see her go.

Yes, if Teddy is truly gone I'll miss her also. Kim Raver has had good series runs with Third Watch, 24, and now Grey's Anatomy (among others).

Shonda confirmed that she was written out and always welcomed to return. Her Third Watch run was really good.

She was good on "24" also.

And wasn't she on that show with a group of women with Brooke Shields? I liked that show also!

Nor did I. My wife watched it. It was "ok" enough for her to keep going back, but when it was canceled she wasn't that upset.

Yeah, why they have to kill the one that could be the best Doctor ever, with her memory and charms and good looks, and they killed her way too fast IMO, I thought she was going to last longer...

Very uncertain future for everybody...

- SG people don't know what's going on yet
- Derek could lose hand/mobility = not good for a brain surgeon
- Arizona could end up losing the leg, and Callie having to make her a prostetic.
- Grey and Christina with just emotional wounds
- Mark with both physical and emotional problems, if he survives at all..

And yeah I was expecting smokie monster to take the pilot away.. LOL

OMG NOT MARK!!!!!!!!!!!mad.gif
I thought the same thing. If they hadn't put his birthdate/deathdate at the end of the show, I was hoping it would have all been just one of those wacky dreams we've grown accustomed to.

And, for those of us old enough to remember St. Elsewhere, I recognized William Daniels immediately. Hard to believe the old man is now 85 and still performing surgery (lol).

I'm not sure how I feel about the plane crash story being handled non-linearly (if that's a word). Next week, we'll watch the flashback knowing how it turns out, which I guess is interesting in its own way, but I'm not sure. I guess I'll see how I feel about it after next week.

I was right on the money on the Sloan, Dekek and Arizona "preductions" (well they were mostly obious), I'm surprise there's no prosthetic yet..

When are they starting to tell us what happened after we left Season 8? I guess they will show us little by little as Shonda said..
Ahh budget cuts! Out with the expensive and in with cheap. Unfortunately I don't like the choices.

I am glad they got rid of the heart doc from 24 but they should also get rid of Arizona she just annoys me.

I liked the Lexie character but she probably wants to do Mom duty and orchestrated the move.
McDreamy's hand issue reminds me of ER and Hawthorne where they both had injured surgeon stories. I don't expect a helicopter to fall on him though but it might be a vehicle for a delayed exit.

Really sad to see Mark go. Also thought the same fate for Arizona, so the misdirection worked on me! I guess from a dramatic standpoint it's good to have all these issues for the characters to work though (not to mention the economic realities of an expensive cast) but boy, the shows really going to be dark for a while.
And the interns are just like the old ones... the crying one resembling Grey herself, the black chick is Christina, etc..
Shonda's article on why Mark was really good and convinced me it was the right choice. The actor was leaving the show and there was no suitable way to explain why he would leave his daughter and how he'd just roam the earth mourning for Lexie. So a death was fitting.

There are two deaths in Shondaverse that I am adamantly against though. And interestingly, they could have left under happy conditions, perfectly in line with their character. The first is George. Why couldn't he have just been left to go to the military and be done with it? The second is on Privates Practice. The midwife guy...can't remember his name. He got in to med school but was killed by a drunk driver, leaving his daughter an orphan (after his estranged wife died in a fiery meth lab explosion she caused). Again, just fine if he moved away to med school. The death of a major character this season was shocking, but foreshadowed. A shame budget cuts got the better of them. Looks to be a solid last season for PP though.

I tell you what, though, Sandra Oh deserves an Emmy nod. She knows how to wrench your heart with just a look. It takes a great actor to express that much without dialogue. She's fantastic. Not sure how many more seasons this show has. Supposedly it's taking a cheerier turn. I mean, the disasters these people have been through IS getting a bit ridiculous... But they've all been done well. Enjoyed this show week after week. Aside from the Denny ghost story arc, it has always delivered,

Even with losing old characters and introducing new ones, it's amazing how the show keeps chugging along without seemingly missing a beat. It would be interesting to see a list of major characters who have either died, been killed, or just left this show. I'm sure he wasn't the first, but the first one I remember is the patient that Izzy fell in love with and who wound up leaving her a fortune.
I didn't like how they mixed the flashbacks, all in random order and not even chronologically...

At least we know how Sloan took his decision on life support..

Arizona taking it on Callie because she was on the OR saving Derek's hand instead fo saving her leg..

I knew that was Christina at the door last night.
