WMV-HD Terminator 2 backup is finally possible?! - Page 2

post #31 of 215
Its now playable without going all thru that DRM B***S***. I have purchased the DVD and I only played the HD version once. It crashed my computer several times while trying to connect to their servers so I gave up. I want to watch my movies without going thru this hassle. Thank you whoever you are.
BTW DONT update your WMP for this.
post #32 of 215
I have a legal copy of T2 that I have never successfully played since it exhausted my patience first with too many failures and I just decided I wouldn't buy any more like that. That would likely also apply to this new scheme unless I was really determnined for some reason.

But I might go look for the download someday.

So, I was able to do this on one of the WMV-HD trailors.

Anyone know how the version of t2-de-drm was done if you cant get a licence without wmp updating itself? it must be possible.
post #34 of 215
once you have the new license and have it backed up, you could try a system restore. Then load the backed up license again and start "playing".

Don't know if it works, but theoretically it should.

I can decrypt anything that does not need the machine to be "individualized". It means it relies only on blackbox.dll and does not need the indivbox.key. So the goal should be to get the machine individualized without downloading any updates that fix the DRM exploit.

Bump :)
post #37 of 215
I have WMV10 and was never able to install the required updates to get T2 to play in hi def at all. I really don't care about getting the disc backed up; but not being able to play it at all is really unreasonable!

What you are talking about means developing an entirely new exploit and is no where near replacing DLLs on your system.

I finally decrypted the Terminator 2 WMVHD files. The key was to get drmv2clt.dll file from the Japanese version of WMP9 and put it to WMP9 directory.

Can you hook me up with this file?

So here is my procedure:

1. Install fresh Windows XP SP1 (English)
2. Download and install WMP9 from Microsoft
3. Make sure you are now able to play the T2_part1.wmv files from the Terminator 2 DVD. That requires running dvdrun.exe, individualizing WMP and finding the right proxy if you are not in US to get the license.
4. Get the DRM2WMV files from DOOM9 forum
5. Download Japanese version of WMP9 from Microsoft (same link as 2, but change the language)
6. Doubleclick the downloaded file, it will unpack all installation files to temp directory in your Documents and Settings directory. Get the drmv2clt.dll file and copy it to c:\\Program Files\\Windows Media Player directory. Cancel the Japanese WMP9 installation.
7. Edit lines 9-12 of the drmdbg.ini downloaded from step 4 as written bellow

drmv2clt=1;
drmclien=0;
blackbox=0;
indivbox=0;

8. Doubleclick drmdbg.exe. It should open WMP. Navigate to T2_part1.wmv. After acquiring the license the drmdbg DOS window should display something like this:

drmdbg Ver 0.31 by taku
CreateProcess: c:\\Program Files\\Windows Media Player\\wmplayer.exe
010010C5 âvââOâëâÇ âGâôâgâÕü[ â|âCâôâg
IsDebuggerPresent: memwriteret=1 callret=0
crc: 2850B98C c:\\Program Files\\windows media player\\drmv2clt.dll
setbp 09252BCC 50
eax 00D6E1C8

<DRM2WMV2>
<KID></KID>
<SID>LCqa6j9UTtiPj3FZKZ0pFnIYzaM=</SID>
<INFO></INFO>
[]
</DRM2WMV2>

Copy the last 6 lines and paste them to T2_Part1.key text file to the drm2wmv1241\\drm2 directory. Do the same for parts 2-7.

9. Copy the seven T2_PartX.wmv files from the DVD to the drm2wmv1241 directory.
10. Change your date to 12/Feb/2005
11. Open DOS window, go to drm2wmv1241 directory. Type
md c:\\windows\\#dummy
drm2wmv T2_Part1.wmv

The file should be decrypted. Here is what I see:

J:\\drm2wmv1241>md c:\\windows\\#dummy

J:\\drm2wmv1241>drm2wmv T2_Part1.wmv
DRM(Ver1&2) Conversion tool Ver 1.241 by taku

J:\\drm2wmv1241>drm2wmv T2_Part1.wmv
DRM(Ver1&2) Conversion tool Ver 1.241 by taku
DRMv1 KID (17fG9KorUkm83BmyUnPv3w==)
DRMv2 KID (17fG9KorUkm83BmyUnPv3w==)
ÅSâpâPâbâgÉö: 110189ü@1âpâPâbâgâTâCâY: 9418
|################# | 34%

Repeat for the other six parts.

12. Join the decrypted files with WMV Direct. Here is where I encountered a problem. I cannot join all the files. Probably the WMV Direct is somehow limited in resulting file size. I was able to join only parts 1-5 to almost 5 GB file. If anybody knows any other WMV joining software, please let me know.

EDIT: I was able to join the files with AVI/MPEG/RM/WMV Joiner.

Good luck

Tomas

bump in support of this. Right now my T2 DVD is useless because i hate how the HD files are split into chunks. If there actually is a relatively easy way to rip it and join the files that would be awesome.
post #44 of 215
unbelievable
I am not sure how willing I am to take this on
right now
but sounds sweet

thanks tj21
post #45 of 215
I have tried everything posted but the only way I can get a sid to even appear in DOS is to use the drv2clt 3250 version dll. But, the key is always AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA= . I dont understand why this is. If i could get past this step I might be able to crack it.
post #46 of 215
After some tweaking I got the SID but no luck in getting any KID. Of course the post above shows no need for the kID. But the decrypt procedure does nothing for me.
post #47 of 215
DID IT!!

Its weird but I downloaded another copy of drm2wmv.exe and replaced the old one. The file sizes and version where the same but the new one gave me the KID. The wmv file would not decrypt though. I remember putting a copy of the .key in drm1 and drm2 folders. I removed the drm1 copy and the file decrypted.

KILLER!!
post #48 of 215
for what's it worth, I have been unable to play either my T2 or Step into Liquid for quite some time and I have almost given up...EVERYTHING is up to date on my machine, the T2 disc just hangs at the update screen, and the Step into Liquid says, there was a problem aquiring license from server...
I regret buying these WMV9 dvds now in retrospect because there is NO support. It really pisses me off actually.

I say crack the bastards and down with DRM! Stupid stupid stupid!

I really appreciate that this is on this forum, and I plan on giving it shot ASAP. Thank you.

I get nothing with drm2wmv

XPVOL+SP1(NOT ENGLISH VERSION IS IT MATTER?) WMP9.00.00.2980(ENG +JAPdrmv2clt.dll)

download.microsoft.com/download/4/3/d/43dc9661-f69b-4735-9797-b3c98199085e/Ray_720p.exe

this file do't need to updata DRM so there is no indivbox.key in alluser\\DRM
but nomatter individualization or not i get the same result

drm2wmv.zip from DOOM9

md c:\\windows\\#dummy

a Ray_720p.key in \\drm2

change date to 12\\Feb\\2005

and there is what i get:

"<DRM2WMV2>
<KID></KID>
<SID>a1vBji5hYb9GrUlAiY9Jt6SHnzk=</SID>
<INFO></INFO>
[]
</DRM2WMV2>"

i can find KID manually qleG8Lj0n06B2wX9UIsC1g==

but nomatter add it or not it return:

"F:\\1\\drm2wmv1241>drm2wmv Ray_720p.wmv
DRM(Ver1&2) Conversion tool Ver 1.241 by taku

F:\\1\\drm2wmv1241>"

it do nothing atall

some question please help:

1,do you download drm2wmv from DOOM9?if not any other link?

2,any one have ripped Ray_720p.wmv success?

3,most DRMED files need individualization drm2wmv donot work after update?

When it just drops back to the cmd shell with no error I think it belives that it's past the expiration date. Try changing the date to BEFORE FEB 12.
post #51 of 215
thank you Zeta Reticula

but it does'nt work when i change the date to 6th feb

I think the KID and SID are correct because somebody has post it in DOOM9,we have the same KID and SID,he say he have sucessfully rip it out with these ID,but why could'nt I?

could anybody mail me yours drm2wmv.zip or the three dll which work find on your machine?many thanks!

post #53 of 215
I still can't decrypt anything, i got SID and manually the KID with freeme.exe (it apparently doesn't make or decrypt nothing but it shows the KID that is the same if i do it via hexadecimal editor but less hard ;-) ) but when i put:

C:\\drm2wmv\\drm2wmv\\>drm2wmv -v movie.wmv

i got nothing, or else, nothing, what is what i doing wrong?, or it maybe have a more powerfull protection? i put the movie.key in the folder drm2, and even the drm1 folder, and in the both folders, XD, i still wondering what is needed to do to make it work!!! :mad: I'm still waiting...
post #54 of 215
edit... Never mind...
post #55 of 215
I spent all night trying to get this to work, but no avail. However, I noticed some discrepancies between your (Tomas') guide and my disk. My T2 disk has only 4 files, which are about 2,000,000KB each, the last file only being about 850,000KB in size. I assume this is a newer disk or something... I also noticed that every time I run drmdbg.exe and then play the first file I get a different SID every time... (Is that normal?)

So I went ahead and added the SID information that was given into a newly created file called T2_Part1.key, which I put in the drm2wmv1241\\drm2 folder.

After that I make the #dummy folder and try to decrypt the file. If I type 'drm2wmv T2_Part1.wmv' it does not start decrypting, instead it shows this on the screen.

C:\\Documents and Settings\\EC-EXCURSION\\Desktop\\drm2wmv1241>drm2wmv T2_Part1.wmv
DRM(Ver1&2) Conversion tool Ver 1.241 by taku
DRMv1 KID (VeY*ap0pAEiCgoMmIZ43GQ==)
DRMv2 KID (VeY*ap0pAEiCgoMmIZ43GQ==)
keyfileé╔KIDéŹÃ©Ã¡Ã©Φé▄é╣éą

âGâëü[éŹÃ©Ã¡Ã©Φé▄é╡é╜ <ENTER>é┼ĹIéφéΦé▄é╖

However if I put some KID information into the T2_Part1.key file it will start decrypting with that info. (but the resulting file will not be decrypted correctly, and it will make a useless file) How do you find the KID information? And is the SID supposed to change every time you play the encrypted file?

hey there.... this is my first post....
i have a problem with these tools...
i have downloaded the jap-version and copied the .dll into my WMP folder and all the other steps...
all i get from drmdbg is:
drmdbg Ver 0.31 by taku
CreateProcess: C:\\Programme\\Windows Media Player\\wmplayer.exe
010010C5 âvâìâOâëâÇ âGâôâgâèü[ â|âCâôâg
IsDebuggerPresent: memwriteret=1 callret=0
CloseProces
Enter key run

drmdbg opens wmp but a few seconds later it's closed again....

can anyone help me??

greetings

I will try to help you. (Although I am not the best person, seeing how I couldnt succesfully decrypt the file.)

First thing to check, can the HD version play by itself? Have you tried playing the disk yet? I noticed in his guide he left out the part about you having to install a DVD codec. I chose WinDVD which has a trial. But the trial version wont work for this because a window pops up every time you load it. So either find a different free dvd codec or buy one.

So yeah, make sure you can play the HD version from the disk first.
post #58 of 215
i've read this thread and i have a couple fo questions:

1) are you saying that purchasing this DVD set entitles you to only 6 days of viewing of the WMV version?

2) are you saying the DRM checks the license repeatedly during playback, interrupting the movie?

You do not need DVD codec to play the HD version of the Terminator 2. I do not have it installed at the fresh partition used for DRM decrypting. Nothing is omitted from the guide.

You have 6 days for viewing since acquiring the license. However you can acquire the license repeatedly.

The license is needed all the time during the playback without it the movie would not be decrypted. DRM creates approx 15% CPU overhead.

I suppose you played an indivual T2_PartX file from the DVD disk? Otherwise you would need a DVD codec, because the only way you can access the HD version is by browsing threw the DVD menu. I forgot about manually playing the files... Sorry, forget what I said in my last post.

Seeing how youre here, could you help me figure this out... Do you get a different SID every time you run the video threw drmdbg.exe?
