I figured it out while I was being frustrated from recording any new channels after using the 00000 zip code to disable the TVGOS from updating.
Went back to my normal zip code and BINGO! I finally had access to my channels! Who Knew!
That may be true for a cable card lineup but my OTA recordings are unaffected by setting the zip code to 0000. I took that step (setting to 00000) and disabling the automatic shutdown at 01:00 as I thought that it was messing with my manual recording schedule. (I don't remember now what I was seeing that made me take the step to set the zip code to 00000.) At one time my clock was wildly off and my recordings were hard to schedule. After some tinkering (pull the plug, TVGOS reset, etc.) My clock is within 2 hours of the correct time so I record 6:30 pm CST with a setting of 08:21 pm on the schedule clock.
Just by accident, the last time I pulled the plug was on Thursday Jan 10, 2013 and my system reset to 1/1/2004. My current system date is 2/4/2004 Wednesday which corresponds to today's date of Wednesday 2/13/2013. Thus my manual recording schedule is correct day for day Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, there were 29 days in February in 2004 and there are only 28 days in 2013 so my weekly line up will shift by one day after 3/10/2013 and I'll have to change my Saturday and Sunday schedules.
I have not done an OTA channel scan since loosing TVGOS and my lineup is the one left over from when I had TVGOS and edited the channel line up in the Guide grid. After all the resets, I no longer have the grid and if I press guide, I get the welcome to TVGOS screen. Manual recordings are working as expected.Edited by smf_sony - 2/13/13 at 11:35am
