If the channel doesn't actually exist, the unknown title won't be a problem. ;^)
Not good for heavy use, but I still make a paper schedule using MS Word. The favorites button helps too. I make new catagories, like HD, SD, etc. to make it easier.
I have made dozens of manual recordings in the past few weeks. It is pretty easy for me to tell which is which. I still keep the recordings "grouped" (even though they are all in the "unknown" group), because that shows the channel, date and time when I expand the contents of the group. My daily and weekly recordings are all on different channels, so I know the program by the channel. The movies are all TCM, but I tend to watch and delete them as a I record them, so I don't need to keep track of more than two or three movies at any time.
As for stability, I wonder if removing unused channels from Sony "Preferences" can help? I must try that while I'm without TVGOS. If it every reboots.
I only keep six channels on that list. Until recently, I kept only one channel on it. No change in stability for me.
