"Sail forward". That's good.

Well, to each their own, right?... I hated that "not in lineup" error more than any other DHG quirk, so I installed .13 last week. Oh, and I still have the channel number and call letters on the FP when watching live TV. Maybe that comes from the cableCard.

Those of us with resets back to '04 also have a Feb 29th, since 2004 was a leap year, so I believe March 10th will fall on a different weekday. If the DST routine is based on numerical day, rather than DOW, you might not spring ahead for another day. Of course, I lost the patch, and my DHG date is still in January, so I'm not even going to calculate when/if the machine will automatically make a DST change.

Ya know foreplay before acceptance...rolleyes.gif I have recorded 3 scheduled programs as long as they are scheduled, and regardless that the unit says Channel is not in Lineup! wink.gif

If you don't mind me asking - exactly HOW do you get the Sony to do this? I've tried, even when TVGOS was working; but my 500 would randomly tel me Channel not in lineup.

How does changing channels and turning off and on help?

Thanks - it would be nice if my doorstop would at least do SOMETHING. smile.gif

In WMC, if you look at the "About Guide Listings" section, you will see that the guide data is actually provided by Zap2It, not Rovi. (Though I'm looking in Vista right now, not 7).

Zap2It gets its listing data from Tribune Media Services. Wiki lists others, but I don't know how current that data is since it also lists TV Guide and TiVo.

Tribune Company is Zap2It's parent as they say on their About Us page and where they show these contact addresses:

I've never seen a crystal in the DHG. I'm sure there is a circuit somewhere. Maybe next to the battery? [joke]

Indeed.  I use it all the time.  I have Win7, Media Center, and the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (Dual Hybrid TV Tuners).

The HD is awesome with my 24" monitor.  I need another hard drive.  Disk space is low. rolleyes.gif

Zap2It is a 13 day guide. TitanTV is 14 days. TVGuide.com is 15 days. Each has its attributes.

Has anyone tested the DHG on a UPS for a day or two?   Could a decent size UPS hold out that long?

Anyone without power for over a day probably had more to worry about. However, I have gone 12 hours with two DHG 250 units running and a few items using just vampire power. That was my longest outage and I should have pulled the power, but I wanted to record some shows. I had (at that time) an older APC 1500VA BackUPS with a battery pack. I have since replaced it with a newer model - same rating. I also used an inverter on a 1000AH marine battery to run my fridge and oil burner. That was in 2011. Last year I only had 6 power failures. This year I have had two, both under 5 seconds. A different 1500VA UPS runs this desktop and my router, modem and other stuff. I have two small UPS units that run my bedroom TV & DVR and one runs the attic FM amplifier.

I do not think I would go that long (from Jan 1 to Mar 10) between resets.  Clock drift would be pretty big anyway. So, other than this-n-that and the other...  it is SLICK SLIDING!     biggrin.gif

Tonight tried manual recording and kept getting the pink screen not in your lineup nothing I tried was working like before. I was getting nervous because after 10 mins of trying my program was on and I couldn't get it to take the HD channel. Finally after 15 mins it worked and I tried so many different things I don't even know what I did to make it stick. This is crazy stuff.

That sounds just like what I went through before I loaded the .13 firmware. There was no way to pin-down a sequence of inputs that could produce consistent success. In fact, I wonder if simply waiting 15 minutes would have done just as well.

I am interested to see how long people put up with that struggle before "going 13".

And that my friend is why I say to get the schedule to take way before the show starts, or you may get one of those that just won't take. Or you will lose part of the program till it takes...rolleyes.gif

Since I have gone for a record six days without a crash or auto-reset, I am going to wait until next week for my DST warm reset. The machine hasn't been so stable since 2008 (before I had a cableCard), so I'll adjust recording times for a few days instead. I'm curious to see if I can go two weeks without a problem.

Fearing the unknown, of course. smile.gif

I had to be very sure before trying it myself, but I am very glad I did!
