There is other stuff listed under the 1234 Code. I want to take screen photos of various diag screens, but I need to get a 'cheap'
camera (with decent macro). Taking pictures with my TricFone and having to eMail them to 'download' is not as convenient as a
straight download to the computer from a digital camera.
The 1.2.21 Firmware sticks with the resets I have done.
I suppose this will stick until a FULL reset?
I had it listed in my sig as ".21".
I just now edited my sig for clarity.

It has always seemed to be independent of the on-screen Guide clock (which is the one that controls recording).
If the Front Panel Clock goes away what is the Big Deal? Am I missing something here?
Or are you Manipulators actually able to somehow sync the FPC and the Guide Clock?
That's interesting. If you have .21 then I believe that means that you still have your TVGOS patches which for me keep the 741... reset from changing the clock.
Unlike others on this thread, I would prefer to keep my FP clock going and so far have been able to do so. Here is my experience:
Since losing TVGOS I have 1) installed the .13 firmware and 2) changed the ZIP code to 00000. That's all.
The former is needed to get rid of the pink screen, and the latter to stabilize the DVR. Since changing the ZIP, the DHG's (I have 2) have not seized up or restarted. I doubt that will be the case forever but so far so good. With a non-zero ZIP neither would go very long without an issue that would required resetting the clock. And I have not done any of the "major" resets for fear of losing the FP clock for good
I previously reported that by DHG would always be set to 5:00 PM when restarting. I need to retract that now. I did a FP reset (Guide + Exit) and that rule suddenly went away. Here is my new "theory", for what it's worth:
My 2 DHG's each have their own "unplug/plug" time - one is 7:27 AM, the other is 9:04 PM. If I unplug the first between 7:28 AM and 7:59 AM - it will "wake up" at 7:28 AM on the same day - no matter how long it is unplugged. Same for #2, if I unplug it between 9:04 PM and 9:59 PM. If I wait until the next hour, this does not always work but I do not have enough experience to predict what time actually will appear.
When the reboot and process completes, I turn on the DHG with the remote and bingo! - the FP clock matches the guide clock. I've repeated this a few times with identical results. The only time it failed was when I turned the DHG with the white button - then the clock did not do what I expected. I know that's weird, but it really happened.
I part company with some of you with regard to the FP clock. I let's me know if the time is still OK without having to turn the unit on - so I'd prefer to keep it going as long as the DHG is stable. So far so good.
I know that Joe and Kerry will have opinions on this, and I welcome your ideas and/or criticism.
