Las Vegas on NBC in HDTV

Overall, kind of a bummer of an episode (BonJovi/Elway hijinks notwithstanding). And what happened at the end of the show? They "imploded" the CGI hotel? That was outta nowhere. How is this show coming back next year?

They made it appear as if there's a chance she wouldn't return. Vanessa Marcil is questionable to return, too. I ask again - how is this show coming back?

How about a dream sequence with one of the main characters "waking up" from a bad nightmare? (A la Bobby Ewing) Another possibility is them moving the show into a real hotel, so the horrible graphics don't have to be done anymore, they can use an actual hotel.

I agree that the finale of Las Vegas was disappointing. Probably my least favorite episode.
As far as how this show is going to come back, I don't really care -- as long as it does come back. Seriously, for all I care they can just pretend this whole episode didn't happen and just start over if they'd like. That'd be fine with me. I don't watch this for a compelling continuous "story arc" or for character development. It's all about the hot chicks. And sometimes the silly little weekly security story ain't bad either. As long as Nikki Cox and Vanessa Marcil are on this show and dressing up like high-priced call girls, I'm watching. Or even if they leave and are replaced by other hot chicks (depending, of course, on who and how hot they are). Everything else is just details that aren't important to me. It's just a fun show filled with eye candy. That's all I ask it to be. Marcil's character quitting? Cox's going off to Hawaii? Mike on tour with Glady's Knight? Montecito imploded? Handle this any way you want, Las Vegas. I don't care. Just keep up the mindless eye candy good times, please.

This was a strange show. Between the unusual plot turns and the arena football commercial sequences (Elway, Bon Jovi) I wasn't sure what I was watcing half the time. I also have to say that after recently watching CSI, Cold Case, Without a Trace (CBS), and Desparate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy (ABC), that the NBC HD pq is the worst of the major networks that I get OTA (I think FOX may be better, but haven't seen any recent shows to prove it). I don't know if this is just LV, or is all NBC (don't watch much NBC).

I liked the episode. It was different, but in a good way. The different plot twists are what keeps the show interesting and it gives you something to look for to next season. I for one am glad that they blew up the CGI hotel. It was hideous representation of an hotel.

When I called it a "bummer of an episode," I meant that the characters all experienced some depressing events. It was indeed an interesting show, but if Nikki and Vanessa don't come back, I'm out for next season.

I agree that the PQ of this show is, at least occasionally, pretty poor. I think it's exacerbated by the fast pans and in scenes where the fake hotel is featured prominently. NBC was tagged as the "worst HD" network in a poll here earlier this year, but some series' ("The Office" comes to mind) have been lauded for superior picture.

Ok, I see what you meant by bummer. In that sense, yes the episode was bummer. As long as they bring back Molly Simms that is good enough for me. I would love for Vanessa to come back as well.

Not only are all the chicks super hot -- even the extras -- but the characters played by Vanessa Marcil and Molly Simms are enthusiastic advocates of free love. Very enticing (even if unrealistic in this age of rampant STDs).

The various Law & Order shows have the most consistently disappointing picture quality, although IMO there has been some slight improvement lately.

Well, in Vanessa's case, it's only "free" if you're a billionaire or have two weeks to live.

Worst season finale ever.
People making live changing decisions at the drop of a hat because Dean Cain might buy the casino, even though he was one of only 4 bidders. They could have waited 1 day to find out who the real new owner would be.
I thought the 110 year old guy was going to be the secret 4th bidder who thought he was Howard Hughes - they threw that out there & never mentioned it again.

So, in the last scene where Ed Deline opens his door and get shot.
I wonder if he died, and Danny will take over?
Is Las Vegas coming back for another season?

Last Friday was the finale.

That sucks. So how long do we have to wait for next season?
Official start dates will be announced later in the year.

But probably within a couple of weeks of Labor Day, alhtough individual shows may have staggered debut dates.

Guess they figured it worked for Battlestar Galactica (Adama gets a few rounds in the chest..... then "To be Continued") so it should work for LV too. Cool ending, but it seemed really rushed at the end. The pacing was very uneven.

And if anyone from LV production is reading this; how about some more of the hot Indian accounting girl, "before she explodes" pretty please????

They could do what Sledge Hammer did in the 80s. At the end of the first season, the producers expected that they were being cancelled so they ended the season finale with Sledge accidentally detonating a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles. Then the show got surprisingly renewed. The second season began with a recap of the nuclear explosion, followed immediately by text on screen that said, "FIVE YEARS EARLIER". The show then picked up as if nothing had happened.
