I'm liking the current story line although the end of this week's episode may make me change my mind, we've been through hostage scenarios before.

They do pay off sometimes... They did kill Mike Franks off... and the NCIS Director (Jenny) was killed... They have made it look like they were going to kill the current director before, though.

I am not saying I hate him... Leon has actually grown on me over time.... but it wouldn't be a surprise to me if they off him. Then again, they could off someone else in their attempt to rescue him. I haven't heard of anyone wanting to leave the show though... but they have been setting up Ducky for something too, with the Will and asking Gibbs to execute his Will and stuff... so I've been kind of wondering about Mr McCallum and if he wanted to part ways with the show.

I like the fact that Gibbs and JLC seem to be on the outs. Hopefully next week will be the last time we see her...

I thing there is more to what JLC knows about the current story than she's letting on. Seems like Gibb's is coming to that conclusion as well.

It wouldn't bother me if she doesn't come back next year. I liked her first appearance the rest well not so much.

I also got the distinct impression this week that she is involved in this somehow, that she and Dearing are playing an elaborate game of revenge, do we know who the dead sailor's mother is/was?

According to some threads I have read over on imdb, David McCallum has no intension to leave the show (he's been tweeting).

I think the Ducky thing is just a red herring to leave hanging over them somehow going into next season.

That's good to know... he is one of those touch-of-class kind of actors where even the small scenes add something to a show and would be missed if he left.

Same thought I had... echoes back to my earlier "gut" feeling that all was not ducky with Ducky!

I hope he isn't leaving the show... but they sure want us to think he might be.

So this whole thing is so they can build a new set for the 10th season of NCIS.

...and the JLC character still feel as though she involved in this, gave up wayyyyy to easy right before things went BOOOOOOM!

Excellent episode. I hate to see Ducky go.

Other than Ducky I could predict Abby gets impaled with a shard of debris and maybe dies (actress wanted to leave the show), they could stretch it 2-3 episodes or something...

Ziva and Tony trapped in elevator could lead to finally getting closer together..

Uh, one of the ones you're concerned about has signed a new 2-year contract.

Abby or anyone else is "fodder" for both possible off-ing or just red herring distraction... whenever they end a season with a bomb and not showing bodies... its a "who will survive" scenario.

But... it's interesting that Ducky has a solo heart-attack scene on the beach with no one around him.

IF the idea was to be part of the "who will survive" scenario, they could have just had him be in the building when the bomb goes off... that they specifically took Ducky out on his own to show him having an independent problem... even if he doesn't die, it seems to set up for him to take a step back and have Jimmy Palmer be a bigger part of the autopsy scenes.

Everybody else can conveniently survive or not as they see fit when signing contracts for next season.

I really hate these "characters in jeopardy" season cliff endings. A show like NCIS does not need to do this. They have a loyal following and can be counted on to tune in next season without this BS

I have to agree with you! When I see the previews and/or read the synopses it almost makes me want to NOT watch the show!

they were pretty close before the camera cut. lol.

She didnt want to leave NCIS she wanted to leave the Area to get away from the idiot stalker.

And the stalker got arrested again so she had quit talking about leaving.

To me, it look like McGee might be killed off or seriously wounded, looking at the blast on last night's show.

A small nit: Director Vance was driving a GMC Yukon, yet when it showed him holding the key, it was one of those switchblade types a la Mercedes Benz or VW.

Otherwise a pretty good finale.
