Wow. They didn't pull any punches with this new episode. Can't wait to see what happens.

Yeah, I agree completely. If Ziva goes after the person responsible for killing her father, I seriously doubt that Vance will try to rein her in since the same person killed his wife. This was *MUCH* more powerful than most TV show killings, where we are introduced to a character that has been a "good friend" (etc) of a major character and he is killed in that show. We are supposed to accept the emotional intensity of the loss, even though WE have never seen this good friend before. In this case, we have a history with both dead persons, Eli especially. It really DID have an emotional impact, like when Kate was murdered. And Hey! wasn't that at the hands of the same family, basically?

I like the actress who had been playing Vance's wife... but they hardly ever used her. So going out with a literal bang should be great for Vance's character... unless it somehow sets up for him to go rogue and no longer be the Director.

I know they can't do it all the time, but this is the kind of episode this cast nails well... I wish we got more of this level of plot in each season.

Ditto-I thought this latest episode was well written and exciting. But (please don't flame me), I was glad to see the character (Ziva's father) taken out of the series. I always felt he was a self-centered, pompous, egotistical person. This is just my opinion. YMMV.

You make that sound like a bad thing (in a TV show).

"The character's" name in the series is/was Eli David (pronounced Daveed).

I'd rather see the Ziva leave. Those adjectives better describe her.

Naah! I love Ziva, I could live without Vance though... perhaps this is the turning point and he finally quits NCIS...

ziva leave-no way.I liked Kate and didn't figure I would like who ever replaced her. Wow was I wrong there, Ziva add's so much more to the show than Kate ever could have.

Nice shake up to the show so as to keep it fresh and hopefully on the air for a while yet.

As much as I like Zeva, there was something about Kate that was just extra special. Maybe her being Sophia Loren's daughter-in-law helps. lol

At least we can still see Sasha Alexander (as a blond) on Rizzoli and Isles.

And unfortunately there's more of her now.

You know... I wish I was a writer... I had a really cool idea for how they could actually bring Sasha Alexander plausibly back onto NCIS. (Note I said Sasha, not necessarily Kate)... I don't have the details, but the larger plot actually works quite well given things we have previously seen on this show over the years.

Yes, I believe you are correct. This was another stellar episode by a great cast.

We knew it also, but does Ziva loves him? very typical response for an "I Love you" is either "thank you" or "I know"... perhaps she needs a bit more time..

^^That is my assumption as well, given her smile and response "I know".

Correction: I just checked online and with a Jewish buddy - At lo levad (what Tony said to Ziva as they hugged) means "you are not alone".

Wonder if the new deputy director will be around long-term... Vance has lasted longer than most of the show's directors have lasted.

Interesting to have the same actor (Oded Fehr) be a bad-guy agent in Israel trying to push an agenda... while he is a good-guy agent on Covert Affairs who was muscled out for being too good.

Apparently Fehr is becoming a "go-to" guy for these kinds of roles. Hope he doesn't get too type-cast, but he is always good in these roles.

After Ned & Stacy and Ally McBeal, it will be hard to accept Greg Germann in a really serious role.

One of the few parts of the recent episode I didn't think worked was the somewhat comedic segment when he was introduced. Really out of place in a serious, somber episode. Later they had him taking charge and showing he has some chops, but I generally agree that he doesn't fit the bill for director.

And House of Lies too.

The death of Director Shepard was a long hoped-for end to a character which always dragged the show down. Unfortunately, Director Vance, at least the one played by Rocky Carroll has the same, or worse, characteristic. Please let this sequence be the end of him.

^^ Just the opposite. I miss Shepard (easy on the eyes), but have gotten use to the Vance character which kinda surprised me. It's one of those 'when you get ti know him' types.

We agree on this one 100%.

Great interview. NCIS has been my favorite show for years. Abby is a great character and I'm so looking forward to tonight's episode. When nothing else is on, I can almost find an NCIS rerun to watch and find very few of them tiresome.
