That's interesting...I find the Abby character to be overly weird for a show like this (procedural). Her "issue" of not being good enough just didn't seem sincere last night. YMMV.

I wasn't exactly WOWED by last nights show,between a 1-10 scale I gave it a 3. YMMV

+1 Worst character on the show. All her whining/sorrow/empathy always seems contrived.

OMG, she's one of my favorite characters on the show, not just a cookie-cutter replica of similar characters on similar shows. At least her character has character!!

Wow, someone has a bad day and everyone acts like the character sucks....life isn't perfect....NCIS continues to impress me overall.

I didn't say I disliked the show. There is give and take with all things.

Nor did I say I disliked the show. In fact, I love the show. I dislike the character Abby. I also dislike the goofy gal on Criminal Minds.

Really, you don't like Penelope Garcia either? I never would have guessed.

They are the perfunctory "quirky nerd" formula in these shows which includes the human encyclopedia on Criminal Minds who carries his gun hung in front and the labrat on Hawaii Five-O and the array of assistants on Bones starting with the one who became a mass murderer. Kind of a current extention of the age-old crazy professor type, i suppose. Did that cliche start with Abby or another character(s) I can't recall or missed? They are all embued with magical mental abilities in their specialty. In any case, they are flavor, but a general bore when they are the principal subject of an episode.

It is so prevalent that on Criminal Minds, besides the two already mentioned, that show went so overboard they had one nerd, Penelope, mate up with another equal computer nerd in a nerd extravaganza, which is the ultimate bore.

^ +1 ^ It was a little over done.

In my opinion-the latest show (2/19/13-where Vance finds the lockbox) was EXTREMELY boring. I had to force myself to stay awake during parts of it. Just had to vent. YMMV.

Yeah it had all the look and feel of a filler episode, only exception was the return of Vance and that's it...

Gotta agree pretty bland

I actually thought it was a step up for what has been a bland year. They did fall into the recurring emotional drill down of a character that has, IMO, become way too much of a stock theme on the show. The emotional arcs in each episode are overwhelming the Criminal portion of NCIS to the point that the crimes are an afterthought that is thrown into the episode just because the show is a crime drama. The show is a hit so the producers keep going back to the well.

The ending with the Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) Again, the drama of the criminal investigations is being superceded by the revolving door of the series individuals going through their crisis. The show is on a creative downward arc IMO.

It was better than the Abby episode IMO but not that much. Still my favorite network show

Oh god the abbey episode was awful. This week was bad too. The actual crime was so secondary to the vance storyline that they came up with some quick ending to it. Show has been on a decline this year for sure. They never should have killed off mike franks either. I just don't get that decision at all

I caught up on three episodes the other night, and I think I've finally reached my Tony limit. At one point I though, just shut the hell up. The Abby episode I did not buy, she is too strong of a character to get into that kind of funk, did not ring true. All in all the show is getting a bit long in the tooth. They've had a good run but perhaps they should wrap it up next season.

Finally-A good episode last night (at least IMO 2/26/13). Good situations/acting. The cast was back to "normal" operations. One question-what was the writing on the corpse's foot that had Gibbs look at the boar's head for direction?

R9 = Rule 9 = Always carry a knife.

Further clarification... The way the knife was stuck in the animal's head indicated the approximate direction Ducky and Palmer were escaping so Gibbs and his team knew which way to go. Nice to see Ducky & Palmer featured in this one.

I was kind of opposite on this episode. I thought Ducky would have more brains than to run around in the woods talking loudly while armed crazies were searching for them. Or maybe Palmer just brings out the dumbass in him.

That was true at the end, but initially, they were wandering around trying to escape, and both were talking quite loudly. I had the same thought - turn off the flashlights and stop talking!

Ducky was right, he should have had the gun. Palmer unloads a clip and gets a flesh wound.

All Ducky and Palmer had to do was get 50 yds from the cabin and STFU. Palmer fell into the Abby mold of being unbelievable under the circumstances. Why would the heavy not have just walked up the Ducky and made the hit? The episode crime portion was a decent, interesting story. Unfortunately, the producers have gone the direction of needing to do all these "up close and personal" angles on every story. They have opted for stand alone or very short story arcs and there are no long arcs that make you want to find out what happens next week. Maybe they feel a loyalty to the actors to spotlight each one during the season. They've just about gone through all the characters and maybe now we will get a serious story arc until the end of the season.

Was there a cliche at the end they did not miss while crashing through the woods constantly talking in their "outdoor voices," waving around not one but two flashlights, failing to get the downed assassin's weapon when yours is out of bullets, emptying yours in the first place, the "dead assassin" revives, the assassin talks rather than kills when he has his targets in his sights...twice?
