CSI: New York this week (body in salt-spreader-truck episode) looked better than usual--crisper for most scenes IMO. Wonder if they're using a different technique, DOP*, etc.? -- John
* A bit of Googling, and this site indicates the DOP, Marshall Adams, differs from the previous episode's DOP, as well as a different director.
EDIT: A search didn't turn up any CSI NYC exclusive threads with a year scan, and this thread title seems general even if the contents seem more CSI LV.

John, I didn't see CSI: NY this week as I am stuck on American Idol. But, I did see last night's CSI: LV and it was an interesting episode. I had to keep explaining to my wife what was going on as we were eating dinner during the first part of it and wasn't paying complete attention. Interesting the way things panned out and I liked the part at the end where the under sheriff or whatever screwed up and Brass told him what went wrong.

My wife didn't follow the episode either. But I thought it was pretty good.

I love how they keep showing the little models and the package on Grissom's desk. I wonder when someone will think to open that thing up or forward it on to him.

agreed, we were distracted at the beginning of the show with they were discussing the plan for the fake crime scene, so midway through the episode my wife kept on asking if we could go back to the beginning to see what they were saying. Instead we just waited until the end when they explained why they needed to fake the crime scene. Good episode, Liev Schrieber isn't too bad on the show, he's more of a profile than a CSI. Still think Grissom's character has more personality, in his own special way

I have noticed that the music on the shows since Grissom left have a creepier feel to them.

My wife said "I don't like the music, it's to scarey"

Yes, couldn't help but recognize some of the creepy 'stalking' music in last week's episode. It sounded very close to what was used in "Klute" with Jane Fonda. -- John

Same here. The first half just couldn't keep my attention (didn't feel like rewiding) so I eventually figured out what was going on.
can't wait for Grissom to come back and get rid of this creep that is taking his place..Great episode but Gil would never keep the team in the dark like that..

Humm ... anyone want to lay odds on "Creepy CSI" (Liev) being the real miniature killer?
I liked last nights episode.
LOL ... well at least I was on the right track wrt "Creepy CSI."

Next week - according to the previews.

But, yeah, I've been thinking that every episode since Gil has been gone. We all know what has to be in there, but they keep teasing us with shots of the box. I guess there are worse ways of convincing people to keep tuning in.

One of the best episodes of this show I've ever seen. I really enjoyed how we see a more personal side of the characters. Ya really gotta feel sorry for Sarah. Very strong ending when she realized she held the hands of the victim and of the perp.

Keep it up! GA sux compared to this show!

Very nicely done with Sarah's experiences as stated but I found the episode too gruesomly depressing with all those young girls snuffed. Yah, I know, it's CSI, what should I expect?
Yes, a well-made episode and very chilling. Found myself noticing the quite appropriate and eerie music track, a welcome change from blaring rock; hmm, maybe that's only used for 2-murder shows. -- John

Nice episode last night.

When Sara found the girl under the bed alive, my old brain was thinking "Chicago, Nurses, Richard Speck", a real Deja Vu moment, except one of the nurses survived to testify.
Did the perp really try to off himself by slicing his own throat ?

That's so funny you should say that. Just before she discovered the girl under the bed my wife made me pause it and proceeded to give me the whole Richard Speck story. I ran it back a minute to get back in the mood and then-- the girl under the bed.
I hate to say it but I jumped.

Apparently so, but that doesn't mesh with his statement at the end about not feeling anything about murdering the girls. Attempted suicide on his part seems like a sign of remorse. Could it just be a writing snafu?

Anyway...VERY good episode. Dark? Yes, but a very good episode. The part that ticked me off was Greg learning that the city was settling the case against him. How much you wanna bet the brother will try to avenge his murdering brother's death in a later episode?

A very powerful episode. Dark, chilling, and effective.

Did anyone wonder why this had such a strong warning in the beginning? I didn't notice any content out of the ordinary.

It looked like something is coming up next episode about the brother. If I remember correctly, the mother is yelling at Greg asking why taking the life of one of her sons wasn't enough...

I can think of two ways to explain this. Psychopaths tend say what they think people want to hear to benefit their situation. He couldn't say, "Yeah, I loved rippin' them chicks up and watchin' 'em die." Better to plead amnesia and get a little sympathy than admitting he's a monster.

If he has a personality disorder (TV style), he may not actually remember what he was feeling at the time or he may be suppressing the feelings.

In either case, that doesn't mean he couldn't feel enough remorse afterwards to want to kill himself. He acted on impulse and his initial intentions weren't very clear.

Is Jorda Foxx pregnant? She sure as heck looks it.
Maybe they are making here look that way to set up a plotline for later in the season with Grissom? They are not treating her like the actress on CSI-NY who they hid behind tables and shot from the shoulders up on to hide she was pregnant. I do not notice them hiding Jorda Foxx in the same manner.

I really liked last night's episode. Good to see the little guys get some action.

Hodges' "lucky day" montage was a riot. I really enjoyed this episode.

Grissom's "Looks like he's on to us" re: the rat was pretty funny as well.

I really liked last night's ep, great diversion from the usual storyline, and, I hadn't realized how hot "Wendy" is. :-)

BTW, for any of you that also watch Miami, the "Anna always dressed in white" hooker that's been in the last few eps is a regular on "The Shield", she plays a rookie uniformed cop.

Yes, that was a very entertaining ep alright. And yes again, Wendy Simms is one hot lab rat too! Her scenes are always so short... This was the ep I've been waiting for . I think I'm in lust!
