Best buy carries Pioneer usually, or atleast the one by me does

Yea the bestbuy near me has pioneer but none of them in the state have pioneer elite. The only thing I could do would be to order the pioneer 9040 which is the same as the 21thx without the pretty elite sign on it. You can order that online and get the regular 1 year warrenty. Or I could go visit my brother in Oklahoma and they have some pioneer elite dealers down there. He has a Pioneer elite and likes it but he wouldnt sell it too me. I dont know what Im going to do. I have changed my mind at least 30 times and Ill probably change it 20 more times before I buy one.

Just get the 21txh and be done with it. I have the 23 and it is nice.

I own the W5s for LCR, and IMHO they are the best kept secret of the Signature lineup. Same number of drivers as the S8, for half the price, and they take up no floor space. Bass extension isn't as good as the floorstanders, but I cross over to my Sub 1 at 80 Hz anyway.

Good Morning All. I just started the thread, on page 5 actually but I will finish it, and I want to know what is the price range of Paradigm floor standing speakers ranging from Monitor, Special Edition and Studio. I'm researching my upgrades and Paradigm is included but I need to know what's within my budget.

I'm listening Brand New Day from Sting (Dvd-Audio 5.1 DD) now, and there are no problems with surrounds at all, actually they are pretty hearable and stunning. But they always get lost in movies, I just can't hear any of surround effects. Of course there are sounds and all the surrounds are working but they are not reaching to lp unlike dvd-audios. weird..

Note, that seems to be the new pricing, which takes effect on April 1, by all accounts. The current pricing is roughly 10% less ($50-200).

Dang, just got word from my dealer that my new Studio 60s and CC 590 didn't make it in from Canada today. Have to wait until Monday. What a let down.

Waiting for new toys is the worst. I ordered the Paradigm Sub 15 a few weeks ago and they held up the shipment for 2 days for another customers order for the same store. In the long run it makes no difference but there is something to be said for instant gratification

Agree, in the long run it is irrelevant, but it sure does suck right now!!! I almost wish the dealer would have told me it would take 2 weeks to be in and then when it comes on Monday I'd be excited. Oh well. I'll settle for inferior sound for a few more days

They're coming out in June, if you can wait.

Do you have any more info on these receivers?? you have now peaked my interest because i am very interested in ARC and saying that i am getting Paradigms and Anthem is the sister company to paradigm it may be a great receiver to mate.

I think I got the 110 for a good deal too at $1275 (plus tax = $1449 in total Can).I went to Whitby Audio with a friend to see if they had a 110 on the floor which is where I found out about the switch problem caused by the packaging. No Sub-12 on the floor either but the sales staff are verrry knowledgeable and helpful. If and when I upgrade the rest of my audio equipment ie. Anthem amp/processor, new speakers, I would seriously consider purchasing my equipment from them. I spoke to Mark and he was very generous with his time in answering my questions and also suggested I consider the Sub-12 over the Seismic 110. He was very informed about the Anthem line of products and gave me some good tips on how to upgrade a little at a time starting with the Anthem multi-channel amp. He suggested I could use the Anthem amp and use the pre-outs on my Yamaha to run it as the pre-amp and processor. He also suggested to keep costs down that I could buy a 3 channel Anthem amp to power the front main speakers and then purchase at a later date an Anthem 2 channel amp for the rear surrounds. If the Anthem processors are too expensive to consider other options. Thanks for your help! Soon as I get a price on the piano black Sub-12 with PBK I'll post with the info.

Cancelled the seismic 110 I ordered and went with the Sub-12 in piano black (mostly to soften up the wife to the purchase) and the PBK-1. I think I paid a little too much as I might be getting charged April 1 (new price changes at Paradigm - about 15% increase). Cost 2200$ Can with PBK. I checked if that was the right price or was I being charged new Apr 1 prices and they said no the piano black is more money. Anyway, I placed the order and when I get home next Friday they should have the sub & pbk.

There is an upcharge for Piano Black from Paradigm. I think it depends how much on the speaker in question but I know I was quoted a premium from my dealer so I went with flat black on my Studio v5 speakers and the Sub 15.

I agree I cancelled the order for my seismic 110. It was going to take 2 months from the time I ordered it (Feb 25) until I got it Apr 15. I am getting the Sub 12 in piano black instead.

Now about sub speaker cable. Should I go with the 15 year old 25' long stereo RCA cable currently hooked up to my old Yamaha YST-100 or go to a mono source RCA cable to the LFE on my Yamaha receiver? No XLR option on my receiver. Is it worth it to buy expensive cable. High end shops sell 20' single RCA gold plated Monster for about $80 Can. I will need the longer run to find the best placement. Should I go to The Source (Can version of Radio Shack) and buy a cheaper cable?

How much was the up-charge on the studio's to get piano black, and for which models from the studio lineup?

Just curious is $350 a good price for a CC-290 V6 brand new? Thoughts?

The CC-290 v6 MSRP after the upcoming price increase will be $550.

Yea, but nobody buys at MSRP. So $350 a good price?

Well that is over 25% off the new price. I'd say that is good.

Seems good to me. I just bought a CC-290 for $456US after taxes (7%) so that makes it around $425 @about 12% off. They didn't include the list prices on my invoice...

I got that, 2 pairs of Atoms and an Ultracube 10 early to beat the price increases.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on 5.1 Studio setup (pair of 60's, CC-590, pair of ADP-590's and Sub 12) in Cherry. I talked to my two local dealers and one will give me 22% off. The catch is he's going out of business at the end of April. He says he is still a dealer, so the warranty will be good (I guess I can call Paradigm to verify this on Monday.) Dealer 2 only offered 10% off, even after I told them I had a better deal. I may be able to get them down lower if I go back tomorrow, now that I have something in writing from Dealer 1.

Can you think of any reasons not to go with the better deal if dealer 2 doesn't want to get close to the 22%? I would pay by credit card, so I'd have protection there. One possible problem would be if they finked out on me and April 1 rolls around, and then I have to pay the higher price to dealer 2. Doesn't seem too likely, since all they have to do is order from the factory. Another issue is what happens if I get a damaged speaker, especially if I don't realize until they're out of business. Would another dealer have an issue working with me even though they didn't get my business initially? Presumably, they have to do at least the bare minimum on warranty service. I am giving them the opportunity to price match (or get close), and I also told them I would buy one of the new Anthem receivers when they come out. I would be happy to establish a working relationship with them, but the gap in price is a bit much as it stands now.

What would you guys do?
As long as they are still an authorized dealer I'd go for the 22% off and not look back.
Go where the money is. As long as you have a receipt, you have a warranty for 5 years.

If the dealer declares bankruptcy, and you haven't received your speakers, you will become a creditor like everyone else. If that happens, you can kiss your money and your speakers goodbye.

Hi, guys - sorry to change the tone, but a quick question. I've got the chance to buy a pair of Monitor 9 v.6, are these magnetically shielded? The Paradigm site doesn't mention it. thanks
