Thanks for stating your opinion Kxhtoo! I figured that the S2 would best the Studio 20. Now I just need to find some way to compare the C3 to the CC-690. On one hand, the C3 has the better tweeter and mid range drivers, bu on the other hand, the CC-690 has more drivers and will most likely win in the dynamics, low bass, and midrange fullness. Decisions Decisions!
The problem I've found with the cc590/C3 is that the dialog is too localized, you can definitely tell the dialog is coming from the 4' mid. Moving up to the cc690/C5 seems to eliminate this problem, the speaker seems to disappear more without the same level of localization. Obviously the cc690/C5 have increased output capabilities but never really noticed a huge difference in low bass. Both designs have the same amount of woofers that cover the low end, the larger models probably benefit from the larger cabinet but I haven't found a huge difference. I've tried both the cc590 and C3 and each time ended up getting the larger center within a few months, currently using the C5 and it's great. If you've got the budget and space to house one go for it.
