You'll probably get more bang for your buck by improving the front end than adding amps, and WAY more if you address room acoustics if you haven't already. YPAO is good, but a fair bit behind the curve of Audyssey XT32 & Anthem's ARC and all of them can really benefit from passive treatments first.

That being said, I had the M25 with my previous S4's and it was an outstanding match. I would still have it if I didn't sell it as part of a package with the M15. You should also look at wyred4sound's ICEpower offerings as well. Been using ICE with my Paradigms for eigth years now and they're tough to beat for a combination of power, performance and value. The PVA's were actually my favorite of the Anthem amps, for music anyways, if your room is on the smaller side they're another option.

I have $3000 for a budget (for L/R/C and surrounds))and would like to know peoples suggestions, Monitor 9's , SE 3's , or start piecing a Studio set together?
I know the studios will break my budget but i could always add the surrounds later.
Any help would be appreciated.

I personally would recommend starting with the Studios and piecing the system together as time permits. That's what I did. I love my Studio 60's and am very glad that I went with the Studio line even though it means putting the whole thing together over time. I can't speak to the 60's vs 20's as I have not heard the 20's, but the 60's are fantastic for both music and movies and a noticeable step up from the monitors.

Having no center channel is really bugging me out. I talked to teh representative for paradigm in Barbados and he wants me to take teh entire speaker to him because he is not ordering the part for me without inspecting the speaker first. I didnt buy the speaker from him (simply because he overcharges big time) and that has him a bit peeved. Here we pay up front first and then receive the product afterwards so i was wondering why wouldnt he just order the part for me even if i still have to pay him up front. he was saying it could be the crossover that is the issue and that is why it seems as if the speaker is not clear. Could that be the reason? Can the crossover cause the distortion that i am hearing?
Yes absolutely. If the driver is fine and the crossover is defective it's likely a much cheaper fix too.

You should get the x-over checked out. I had a pair of ADP 1's that kept blowing drivers, couldn't keep them working for more than a month at a time. After replacing three tweeter/mid range assembilies and the dealer had the x-over checked out. That was the culprit for the blown drivers according to them, I just got rid of them after the third repair as that pair was just too much trouble to be bothered with them.

can i check the crossover on the C3 on my own? Also, can i replace it on my own?

If you're patient and don't mind used, there are great deals on Audiogon and the classified areas of forums like AVS. I recently got my front 3 Paradigm Signatures on Audiogon for 40% of (60% off) their original msrp. If these were sold to me as new, I would not have known they were used. And I am very anal about the condition of my toys. For 3k you can put together a 5.0 Signature "bookshelf" system.

Thanks everyone on the suggestion to use front wide channel for my signature 4's.

Can anyone suggest a 2 or 4 channel amp to use my Signature 4's as front wide or height speakers, since they will be unused now that I upgraded and got the Signature 6's.

My Parasound A51 is only 5.1 channels, but I have an Integra 80.3 with 9.2 channels and I don't want the S4's collecting dust I don't want to spend a fortune, since the amp will only be pushing wide, height or back channels, but I also want to suppliment the quality that best matces up to the equipment I have now.

Since you already have a Parasound Halo amp, Parasound A23?

How do you connect Studio Sub12 balanced input or RCA L/R to a preamp? I'm currently using a receiver sub preout. But let's say I want to use a preamp that has both balanced and unbalanced outs for a 2.1 system. How do I do?

Secondly, do I need a crossover device? Anyone tried without one?

Thanks for the feedback. What pre/pro do you have now?

If it was my unit, I would pay the rep. to check it out to find out exactly what the problem is. Then you can make the decision whether to fix it yourself or pay him.

We have very good ones in my area and were able to find a problem on a new speaker I never would have found. Of course it was under warranty.

Good luck!

You're welcome.
I'm using the Denon AVP-A1HD and just had the XT32 upgrade done recently.

Hi all. I am getting ready to drive to Daytona from Orlando to hear a pair of Monitor 9 v7s. Before I drive the distance will a Yamaha A720 be OK with these speakers. Thanks in advance

Yes it should drive them just fine. Depending upon preferred listening levels, you may or may not want to add an amp (assuming the AV has pre-outs). But otherwise should be fine!

I've been checking here, Audiogon, Craigslist, and eBay. Any other places I should be checking that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks.

An authorized Paradigm dealer?

What would be a good price to get new studio 10's from a dealer?

Ok, original post stated used or new, so it wasn't clear. Are the dealers installers or showroom? I have found most showrooms do take consignment as an incentive to upgrade and have less hassle getting rid of your old items.

Been waiting a week and a half for my Center 3, dealer said the same thing about paradigm shutting down for a week to do inventory and said I should get it early this week.

It's good to know that the prices are going up. I was in the market to buy a pair of 60"s but now will buy the Sierra Towers..

I want to buy a used Paradigm speaker setup (piece by piece, unless I get lucky and get them all at once).

I'm on a budget, so used is my only option. Question is, which Monitor models, series, etc. go together? The model names don't make it easy to figure things out. I'd like to get:
- center channel
- 2 book shelf (max 15" x 21" HxW)
- 2 on wall surround
- sub (in reality doesn't need to be Paradigm)

The reason for the matched series and vintage is achieving the correct tambre, right?
Which models, series go with each other?

I like the Monitor series, so that's where I'd like to focus. Thanks!

In the Monitor series, for the fronts check the Mini-Monitors (version 5or6)
Their dimensions are 13.5H x 7.5W. The center channel to match them
Is the CC-190 or CC-290. Stick with version 5 or 6. For the surrounds I
Would just go with the Atoms. subwoofer is totally up to you, many great
Values can be had that are not Paradigm. The version 5 and 6 are only a few
Years old and can be easily found used without as many hours on them
As the older versions.

Monitor series bookshelves smallest to largest, Atom,Mini-Monitor,Titan Monitor.
Center -- cc-190,cc-290,cc-390.

Addicted to BMW power;)

I am very happy with my 490cc with my Studio 10v5's for my bedroom setup.

Has anyone here compared the Signature S2 v3's with the B&W 805 diamonds? I recently sold my Studio 100 v5 system but I'm moving to an apartment and I think I'll be living their long-term. I've moved away from the idea of big speakers. I think smaller speakers can do a similar job and, in fact, better as the tweeters can be ear height when seated, something I struggled to do with the 100's.

Right now I'm looking, but my top two choices are the Sig S2 v3's and the 805's with the diamond tweeter.

I owned the S2 v3 for a year, very familiar with them. I recently auditioned the Dynaudio Focus 160 and Monitor Audio GX 100's. Both are comparable in both price and performance, it'll come down which ones you prefer. You should give a listen and see what you think.

My RXV3900 does an excellent job with the S4's/C3 but I think there is opportunity for improvement. Having to buy stands for the S1s makes the Studio 10 more appealing since I can just plunk them down on my existing stands.
Your system must rock with those dual Seatons.

Like you I've been on a two channel kick lately and have only watched one movie with the dual SubM's, wasn't a movie that would give the subs a good workout either. I have no doubt that'll I'll enjoy with some of the new releases due out in the fall.

Have you given any thought to Parasound Halo? I thought the Halo amps sounded great with my S2's.

The Anthem and Nad are both solid choices, can't go wrong with either one. Keep us posted on what you decide.

But never demoed the B&W range or equivalent competing model? You say you owned the S2 v3. Did you not like them? What do you have now? Thanks.

The CC-590 & 690 are exceptional center channels with the 690 delivering a more detailed soundstage (imo). I have not heard the Studio 20, but have heard the 590 and own the 690, have heard the Studio 60s and 100s. The construction of the studio series is better than that of the monitors (mainly in the cabinet) so you will see a better performing speaker. I'd ask what front speakers you would be using to better suggest what would be the best center channel. But for what its worth, the 690 is an exceptional speaker.
