After seeing the damage.....I cringed..... Totally unacceptable....
I am a retired Audio Salon Dealer from the New York area.( Audio Visions or W. Babylon, N.Y.) WE were not allowed to ship Paradigm products via Fedex, UPS, USPS or any freight company. We were responsible as dealers for the shipping costs.
We strongly urged buyers to have us deliver the order to their homes, unpack the boxes, inspect the products and those items that showed any sort of questionable surface issues WE took back to our Salon and ordered a new replacement. We would never leave a bad unit with the customer!
I would call Paradigm Tomorrow and give the ship date, the tracking info, Dealer and serial # of the defective unit.
I say this with heavy heart.... But sometimes deceptive dealers repack bad units as new and the boxes look unopened....... The client is screwed.... That is why I always told my customers to call Paradigm or any quality MFG.
Its worth the cost of the call...... Let me know how it goes.....
When I got my Signatures this was pretty much the policy. They would never ship directly to a home. They had to be shipped to the dealer and either picked up at the dealer or delivered from there. The dealer would optionally open the packages to inspect any damage. If they were not okay, then a new one would be ordered. Many of the products sold through a small dealer distribution seem to work this way. Independent of any QC issues, it sounds like the service is not up to snuff at some of these dealers.
