I've been reading this forum for about 4 months now and I can honestly say that my intelligence in A/V has increased. Just wanted to say that and thank everyone for all the wonderful questions and answers.
Now, I have a question.
This is the setup that I plan on getting here in the very near future:
Sanyo Z2 projector
Sony DVP-CX995V DVD player
Yamaha RX-V657 receiver
Aperion Audio 5.1 surround speakers
XBox (currently own and hope to upgrade to Xbox360)
My question has to deal with upconverting and where to hook everything up.
From my understanding the Z2 has an upconverting chip, the Sony has one also, and the Yamaha can upconvert to component.
I read through the entire Sony DVP-CX995V thread but still have questions.
Should I use a DVI/HDMI cable from the Sony to the projector or should I run component from the Sony to the reciever and then component from the receiver to the projector.?
I plan on running the Xbox(360) straight to the receiver and have the receiver send it to the projector.
I have included a diagram to help with the visualization.
