I bought a new HP Core2Duo PC which has integrated video (G965) and only VGA port. The 1920x1080 VGA output is horizontally squished to the right side(does not fill the entire display area since it does not reach the left side of the Sceptre display). The vertical sizing is correct.
The Intel display driver does not offer adjustments to resize/shift the display. However, changing the aspect ratio results in the Sceptre saying "Over Range" and a blank screen and I have to reboot the PC to restore my Windows display
The Sceptre offers some rudimentary adjustments.
1)The 'H-Position' parameter allows me to horizontally shift the display left/right)
2)The 'Clock' parameter allows me to stretch the width of the display.
However I still can't get the VGA output to fill the entire display.
Text is not a big issue, but images (people look thin
) are obviously distorted -- the aspect ratio is not correct.
I also have a HP AMD PC which has integrated video (Nvidia 6150) and only VGA port. The 1920x1080 VGA output correctly and automatically fills the entire Sceptre display area.
Thus, I conclude the squished problem is due to the Intel integrated video. There is nothing wrong with the Sceptre.
Any suggestions how to correct this squished display? (hardware, software, hidden Sceptre controls, etc)
One solution would be to buy an add-in graphics card, but my graphics needs are being met with integrated video (especially since the Nvidia integrated video has no problems automatically and correctly filling the entire display area).
