In fact, it would have taken you a lot less time to to just go ahead and click on those links to see for yourself than it did for you to type out the first paragraph of your post quoted above arguing with me and basically demanding that I have to do it for you. You can pretend that you're an ostrich and can make it disappear by sticking your head in the sand and refuse to acknowledge it all you want to just because I won't post it for you, but it still doesn't change the fact that it is true.
The 30% off gift certificates are obviously entirely different from running the Threes at 25% off every 3 or 4 months, but nevertheless, as follows is copy & paste of the bullet points of the NHT Insider e-mail announcement about them last October with one being big & bold just for efffect -
30% off any e-Gift Card(s) in the NHT Web store
- For the next 4 days you can buy one or more $100, $250, $500, or even $1000 e-Gift Cards in the NHT store at 30% off! No limit. Purchase them for yourself or someone you really-really love. A lot.
- Add as many e-Gift Cards to the shopping cart as you want and enter INSIDERGIFT in the Coupon Code box during checkout to save 30%.
- Remember, you get your discount up front. Yes, you can double-dip and use the gift cards for sale items.
- Save now and shop later when you’re in the mood – no decisions to make. Call us if you want help putting a system together anytime.
- Use the e-Gift Card exclusively at NHTHIFI.com. You may use them immediately. Only 1 gift card is allowed per transaction so be strategic...
- Complete e-Gift card terms and conditions can be found on the e-Gift Card product pages.
Just to point out the obvious here, but If NHT doesn't have a pricing structure that allows them to be profitable when they run a certain sales promotion, then maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't run the promotion. Just sayin'. It sounds like we are actually in agreement here about this whether you realize it or not, so I don't really understand what the issue is over that.
As for the true value of anything used, what the market will ultimately bear for it is how much it's actually worth. For the final time, if you really want to know what that price range is, you can very easily find it out for yourself if you run a search on all of the pairs of Threes that actually closed as sold, and see what their final sale prices actually were.
Look, at this point, all we are doing is basically repeating ourselves saying the exact same things over and over again, just like you baited Alphaii into doing recently about the price increases. However, that is not going to work on me again after this post to derail this thread even further off topic. You are certainly free to post whatever you like after this, but if you actually want another response from me, lets take it to PM.
Explain to me how they measure better, I would like you to be specific
.... if it is so simpe and factual just do it. I want to see if you can back up what you say and actually explain it...
I think like any other entity that runs a sale they do so to stimulate sales.... Not that surprising and good for the customer. I asked you another question that you didn't answer which was what other company has sales as often and in the amount that NHT does... ? As I told the other guy who threw his tantrum when the prices went up, but was quiet when other companies raised their prices is that prices have on almost every item remained the same... which is a good thing.
Well if that was their policy as of last October then good for you for finding it and holding them too it. What specific
item did you attempt to purchase, where from, and what was the issue.. You tend to be light on the details and you need to be better at that.
How does a used pair on Ebay have any effect on the pricing structure of new items with a warranty ? What the market bears isn't static as well, but generally I have seen used 3's on audiogon from around 400 to 450. If somebody got them for 350 on ebay that is good for him. Does this hold true for all speakers sold on ebay and if so then are all speakers priced too high ? I think you may be onto something, that coupled with your keen understanding of economics should allow you to start up your own speaker company.
Look guy, you have some issues and I have attempted to get you to explain yourself and be specific... When you want to finally do so you let me know.Edited by unbridled_id - 6/7/12 at 1:52pm
