Well I registered to give you a quick review of this toy. I do stress it is a toy, BUT......It was worth the 150 bux I paid for it at Wally World.
I have never owned a projector, or even one of the newer flat panel type tvs. I have a 32" Sharp CRT...so I am really a newbie at this stuff.
We saw these advertised before Christmas for $250-$300 depending on where U looked. I joked with my 14 yo son about getting him one, but after reading about the resolution and tech specs opted not to. Well tonight we were strolling thru Wal-Mart and saw this lone unit marked down to $157. So seeing as how they have a return policy we thought what the heck.
I took a plain white sheet and stretched across the wall....I then set the unit up about 10 feet back. We played with it a little bit, focused and set the brightness etc, etc. We connected a set of powered PC speakers to get the volume up.
With it being that far back the screen size is approx 84". We turned off all the lights and made it darn near pitch black. Voile! We just got finished watching Lady in The Water....it wasn't the awesome hd experience I have read about with so many high end prjectors...I didn't expect that...but it was pretty decent. It was bright enough and even though it was pretty pixelated it wasn't horribly distracting. My son has been playing Halo 2 with it. We love the heck out of it! If U want something really portable and ready to go...for less than $200...then this is it. Don't dog me about how crappy it is....I know it isn't one of those HD DLP High Lumens ....blah blah blah.....It is FUN! Now if I had one of those expensive units prior to this....I probably wouldn't like it....but...it is a start....
btw...I wasn't drunk
