picked up this set last night from sears, good price and free glasses. my 1st plasma. my 1st impression WOW. 3d is way better than i thought it would be too.

so many questions as i am new to plasma, will read this thread and hopefully find answers.

connected to my ps3, lag and jittery video (3d files only). its my hdmi cable. need a new faster one. thumb drive plays 3d just fine, will do for now.

burn in... new to this technology. will read thread before i decide what to do.

any advice to a newbie on this stuff would be most welcomed.

this tv makes my sony lcd look weak and not as good bright colors as i thought i had.

I have learned lots in a very short while thanks to this forum. Just downloaded the images to a USB stick and started my burn-in cycle via slideshow. TCP50ST30 replacing (wait for it....) a 1996 Mitsubishi tube TV (that was highly rated in its day...)

just to make this super clear just download anyone of the formats on to a usb thumb drive plug it into the tv and play it?

I just got a 51d8000 samsung. So if there is anything i have to do in particular to this tv please let me know. I am going to do the low contrast setting probably run it for 400 hours.

I downloaded the iso version so far but my computer doesnt recognize it for some reason. Just dont want to get home and have the same problems. Thanks

I have tried everthing in this thread and still cannot get it to play. I only have Sonic buring software. I unzip, slect all and drag to software then burn. I have done as data, slideshow and video as well as just drag to usb stck. Won;t run as slide show from dvd player as looks for jpg's. Advice or any other software besides nero which I did not have luck getting. It gave me Nero Kwik view.

I buy a new plasma (Panasonic ST30).

It is necessary for me to pass this DVD? For how long?

I down load the video_ts, burn dvd using Nero. Loaded in player but see all is white screen on tv. Is it supposed to be like that?

Edit: Oh now is red screen. I think I am doing it right. Am I ?

I downloaded the file, burned it to a DVD-R and it played perfectly.

The only problem I seem to have is that it stops playing after an hour.

I am using a Panny BDP210 blu-ray player for my new Panny Gt30... Is there a way to keep the DVD looping and playing without stopping???

I can't believe people are still doing this. This is completely and absolutely unnecessary. Just enjoy your new tv. There no reason to do this.

My plasma won't have burn-ins if I just played it regularly?

Today's plasmas are much better. Just don't have it in brilliant mode and always display a full screen image (except with some bluray movies of course) and it'll age naturally. Even if you used this, you'd still have the possibility of some temporary burn-in. My PN50A550 is 4 years old, but still every once in a while after the kids watch cartoon network hd for an extended period of time I can see the symbol in the lower right for a few minutes after I change the channel. But it always goes away. The chances of a full burn-in with newer plasmas is pretty nil unless you're displaying a high contrast picture on it 24/7 in brilliant mode. Most people won't do that, though.

Can anyone tell me why the dvd-r version on my bluray player stops automatically after 25 minutes?! It's annoying to have to restart the dvd when it stops, and I'm afraid to leave it on overnight.

Oh and btw, for the people who claim burn-in is not an issue.... I'm using these slides because my PN59D7000 has been stamped with that f**king nbc olympics logo. Even after over 300 hours of meticulous full-screen, movie-viewing "natural" aging of the phosphors, I still got burn-in after two weeks of moderate NBC programming. It hasn't gone away in a couple days, and I can even see it on every single burn-in slide. I don't know if I'm more pissed at Samsung or NBC, but regardless, burn-in is definitely real, even on the newest plasmas.

Does your Samsung have the scrolling bar to clean the screen? I have the PN50B550 and play a lot of games containing static images within the games - Madden, Black ops, etc that will leave image retention onscreen, which I then remedy by using the scrolling bar...I hope this helps. Personally for me, I would just use the scrolling bar...leave that on overnight...ditch the dvd and then just enjoy...good luck.

did you find it? The iso file on his website only runs for 25 minutes for me. I need a long, looping file asap

Hi Guys,

I've been running the slides like every other day that I know I wont be watching TV. I have slides changing colors every 7 seconds with a random transition effects. Was I doing a bad thing by having transitions effects happen? I switched it to no effect transitions at one time. But it seemed like the tv screen would go to black which was like all the pixels being shut off and then to another solid color. Which is why I went with the random transitions effects which lasts like a second when switching to a solid color.

Note: Contrast, brightness, cell light are all at less then 50%

Note2: I own the samsung plasma 60e7000

I have downloaded the file and unzipped it and then i have burned it to a cd-r and a dvd -r both do not work. is it because i am on a macbook?

Just got a brand new plasmas for the first time in years. Do you guys recommend the flash drive version, or DVD?
