I bought my AVR7200 in July '04 and 6 months later it just died! Came home one evening after work and noticed that the amber light on the front wasn't on. IT was just graveyard dead! Since it was under warranty, I purchased it from Onecall.com, I had to disconnect everything, box it up, and ship it to VA from NC
They fixed it rather quick and I got it back within about 1 1/2 weeks. The repair order said they replaced some kind of switch, I don't have it in front of me now, but it was a switch of some kind.
It has worked great since then. When I first purchased it I noticed that the AVR7200 gets extremely hot. So after I got it back I thought maybe the heat had caused it to fail. I went to ebay and bought an external fan that sits on the top and plugs into the back of the receiver. It cooled it perfectly! The only problem is the fan noise can be kind of distracting, but if it keeps me from having future failures, so be it. Everyone knows that heat will eventually ruin electronics. I wonder why HK didn't address the heat issue in development? Does the 7300 run cooler?
