It's funny you mention the Spanish....the wife and I were just saying this. And it wasn't just last night's episode....it's actually been the last 3-4. Must be an inside joke. Not sure why the shift (other than the fact that they now have 2 spanish speaking agents on camera weekly)...but I'm sure hoping they start adding in some "Aussie lingo" for LaPaglia and Poppy....and maybe if they bring in another Brit Viv will have someone to have a go at it with.......

once again, Without a Trace is being broadcasted in DD 2.0 or DD 5.1 here in Texas (so my AVR says)

I don't get in until after Cold Case is over, but the few times I've come early I don't recall the show being sent in 5.1 from network. It's confusing, because in the fall PR wire, network stated Cold Case would be 5.1 this year...

I like this show, but it really bothers me how every suspect gives information to lead to another suspect, and that information is always true! Just once, they need to have a dirtbag tell them a lie!

I just realized I was totally smoking crack and said the wrong show. I think it's time for a vacation...

The end was cool, how Malone beat him up and said "You have to excuse me :spit:" ha

Without a Trace has always been 2.0 from CBS. If your receiver says 5.1, then your local is running their fake 5.1 version.

All CBS shows that use 5.1 say so at the beginning. Trace just says broadcast in HD.

Yeah, well for years my receiver just said 'Pro Logic II Cinema?' and just recently the receiver starting saying DD 5.1.
Interesting how they are doing a fake 5.1 version.

Not really my NBC, and ABC have both run 5.1 for everything(local programs) from their beginning.

could someone please help me out with something concerning the show, Without a Trace. i watched it for the first time at the insistence of a friend, but i missed the last minute and a half of the show because of an important call that had come in. please tell me what the heck happened? i followed the show carefully from the beginning up until my phone call at the last minute of so. please help because this was such a brilliant episode; i just want to know what the heck was gong on in that scene at the very end. i called my friend who had recommended this show but she [being ill and slightly medicated] had fallen asleep just before the end of the show.

If you mean the 5/11/06 episode ... there was no final resolution other than 'one was found alive, one was found dead,' it was left up to the viewer to decide which was which.

Great episode last night,
Could be a continous,Find out which missing child was found dead?
Man I screamed when they ended that episode.
As soon as the music started to swell I knew they were leaving us hanging.
NO, No, nooooo--- I was more upset than the mothers.
I think it was the girl-- in the trunk.
yeah me too. i wanted to see the ending.

Before Without a Trace.. CSI.. Brass got shot and blood was coming from his mouth, the episode is a pt. 1 of 2.

Eh, i sorta wanted to say it was the black kid. But the girl could be too.

The point of them not telling us which one is that it doesn't matter, black, white, red, brown, whatever color they are, none of them deserved to die. That was the underlying focus of the episode as it showed how color does make a difference sometimes, even though it shouldn't.

Frustrating, but brilliant. Got us talking.

Definitely agree
It was apparent that the producers were also trying to give us a taste of the same frustrations as the characters were feeling throughout the episode.

I liked the idea of the episode (being critical of the excessive press coverage given to "pretty white blond woman missing" stories), but I think they could have done more with the idea to drive the point home a bit more. Still a good episode.

And hey--after my complaint a week or two ago, they actually had someone lie to them during an interview!

Wow. Good news, thanks for telling us fredfa
I wonder what Cold Case's slot will be. If it will still be on Sunday nights this fall.

Good season finale, 'Crossroads'. Jack Malone's girlfriend is pregnant!
I thought that Jack's girlfriend storyline was good. How once she went to a dinner with Jacks daughter and all that.
It would have been so sad if she got shot by Jason Presley.

HDTV & DD 'fake' 5.1 here in Tx.
Am I the only one who thinks the writing has gotten very weak over the past months? The storylines seem to be getting more and more involved and farfetched. And Malone's character is less and less the focus, which is a shame since LaPaglia is a fantastic actor.
What was with his voice last night, seemed like it was a lower and raspier whisper than usual. And regarding the writing, it has, for the most part, been weak but it's always provided decent entertainment, nothing more.

I enjoyed this episode, well done, very exciting opening. I liked the way we didn't know in the very beginning that Jack's girlfriend was taken as a hostage but we knew something was up because she wasn't lying on the floor or present at all after the opening ruckus.

Yeah man, Jack Mallone's voice was all messed up. I thought this was because my local CBS station did the 'fake' DD 5.1 . I forgot to post about that last night. It was a lil raspier than usual.
Yeah, the opening scene was very nice. Also when jack opened the car's trunk and took a gasp.. since his girlfriend could have been dead in the trunk.

My wife and I noticed this during the time that he was talking to Priestly in the office, then later his voice seemed normal. We just figured that he had a cold or sore throat during one of the days of filming for the episode.
