display mate- how does this differ from calibration disks and has anyone used it??

HI,

has anyone used this ISF approved product for calibrating displays of all types and how does this differ from using a dvd essentials disk or the like besides price???

http://www.displaymate.com/isf/index.html

Can this program be used with the likes of Spyder or Eyeone color meters???

Thanks,

Larry

many use DisplayMate as a standard

biggest difference is this is a PC based program: not a DVD you can pop in your DVD player

Thanks Marc,

Just seems to be more logical then dvd type of systems and does gray scale....

I use displaymate video edition extensively for things like setting grey scale, checking resolution, focus, convergence and many more. You have to be a little careful, because it outputs at PC levels of 0-255, not video levels of 16-235.
