This seems to be happening more frequently now.
Funny you should mention this, because I was just about to ask about something very similar: I'm in Northern VA, and my Cisco DVR is set to record the 11 pm news from NBC (Ch. 4) daily. At least 4-5 times now within the last few months, NBC's subchannel 4.2 (COZI TV) somehow gets remapped onto what should be 4.1, so I end up recording 30 minutes of old TV series instead. (I thought perhaps 4.1 and 4.2 were being swapped, but that's not the case - COZI ends up on both 4.1 and 4.2.) The only fix is to reboot the box. I've called VZW tech support, but they seem clueless as to why or even how this could happen.
And speaking of software bugs, I have the DVR's HDMI output running to my Panasonic plasma and the RF output goes to a small set in the kitchen. For years now, there's been a bug where the RF feed has no sound if the set connected via HDMI is turned off. This was discussed at least a year ago on the VZW forums, and a Verizon employee said that they were aware of the problem and it would be fixed soon in the next software release. Yeah, right... that same bug is still there a year later, and I'm not holding my breath.
