Thanks for the catch...the options are now not being recongized as folders, but I am still having issues getting it to go into the correct subfolders...If I specify the subfolder it finds the files in it, but if I specifiy the file above it, it doesn't....I have attached my ini, and a snip of the search...

Additional debug info. KaXKID, I might need some input here. Let me see first.
RF, can you install this RT, run again and post the log?

Hold on, I'm going to post an RT with additional debug data. Maybe the last fix for another new user is causing a problem here.

the problem is that these channel names are for the ota channels, not the cable channels. the cable channel names are not the ones with DT, but probably SD or HD. RT is not supposed to be scheduling the ota physical channels. WNABDT should be on D850 not phych 23. phych 23 is ota, right?

so, we, probably, need to change the definition to:

>> mapfusionname D850 WNAB

not:

>> MapFusionName D850 WNABDT

When I used:

>> mapfusionname D850 WNAB

It schedules the shows on the station listed in the XML file, ie- D235 for WNAB. I think D235 is the channel that gets programmed into the set top boxes from my Cable Company (if you use a set top box.)

WNAB OTA (The WB in my area) is on air channel 23, Virtual Channel 58 Sub Channel 1

ok, D235 is not in the xml file. 235 would be in the xml file, no D. the xml file, normally cantains a number of "names" for the same station. the ones with DT suffix are normally the designation in the zap2it data for the ota stations.

in the mapfusionname definition, we want to use the name that zap2it uses for the cable HD channel for WB. we want to stay away from the name that zap2it uses for the ota station. without the psip data from your cableco, the mapfusionname definition is the way for RT to match up the fusion virtual number of 850 to the zap2it program data for WB, so what is that name in the zap2it(xml) data?

btw, the info we need would be the name of the channel you checked in the digital cable listing of the zap2it list of channels when you signed up for zap2it.

I would stop using that debug version I posted. For some unknown reason it causes DB access failures. Or maybe that is because of the changes in your tables. In any case it is not displaying what I wanted to see.

i've seen those errors when the data is already entered into the database. i guess the fusion app won't allow a second instance of the same data with only one tuner.

ps- Again, the one station in my area which is > 100 works with MapFusionName:

Dump_All_Sub_Channels: Cable channel 115 Sub_Channel count 1 Str Length 122

When I:

It will schedule a correct show on D-1150.

The issue is with stations < 100.

ok, tune to CW using the fusion app.
schedule a 5 minute recording using the fusion app.
post a copy of your epg2list.mdb

Here you go! The 5 min. recording on CW should be the only manual recording listed. All the others are recordings I've done with RECORD_THIS OTA.

ok, you shouldn't need the mapfusionname option.
try the earlier RT version linked below using your original channel map:

>> channel WKRNDT 92 921 1 CABD
>> channel WSMVDT 93 930 1 CABD
>> channel WTVFDT 92 920 1 CABD

>> channel INHD 87 870 1 CABD

post the results, so we can go further, thanks.

Success!

I'm attaching the log file as well. The older version of RECORD_THIS broke my file naming scheme and looks to have a conflict with my "newer" not_seen DB, but at least it works with this version!

rf

ps- Let me know if you need me to post any of my DB files or to run any test with updated version.

More info:

I just noticed in my log file that a show on PBS (D1150) did not get scheduled, (Nova). I edited my ini file and added mapfusionname back for D1150 (the one channel that I have that is > 100) and removed the "Channel" command for it. This corrected the error of not scheduling the recording of Nova.

So with this older version of RECORD_THIS, it works, but I have to use CHANNEL for stations < 100 and mapfusionname for stations > 100.

RF,

Keep that ancient RT that KAXKID referenced but could you try this next one?
I ask because I can't test QAM much less cable stuff.

Sure. Let me know how you want me to test it. Like what setting in my .ini file, i.e.- with mapfusionname or channel, etc.

Use the ini file just like you have it from yesterdays successful run. It this version doesn't run the next one d--n well will.

Using the record_this you just posted above with the ini file that works with the old version of record_this from KAXKID, I get a program crash with the "send error report to MS" popup box. If I run it with the ini file that tries to use mapfusionname instead of using channel, I get the same result as yesterday. D920 gets scheduled to D1092 and D850 get scheduled to D1085.

I'm attaching the ini file that works with the older version posted by KAXKID and that gives the crash with the version you just posted.

Do you need the logfile from the record_this "crash"?

yes, in the channel map i posted, i had removed the entry you had in your channel map for D1150 because it should not work with the "channel" option. D1150 should use the "mapfusionname" option. the rest of your stations are less than 100 and should use the "channel" option.

sorry about the other errors that showed up, but i had wanted to test the channel mapping from the earlier version. that version had the channel mapping working for your type stations.

the test using the earlier version shows that somewhere along the way with all the various upgrades and added features to RT, the channel mapping for your type stations has been corrupted.

I'm sure the bug got into the 12/5 version. Happened while fixing the other new user's problems. This RT had better fix it. RF would you mind?

And this PLM should check subfolders. And Sterno3 I ran and found files in subfolders. It even found my timeshifting files all hundreds of them. In fact I had to pull that folder out of the ini.

Sure is a problem with the servers the last few days.

ok, this RT version(compile date jan2, 2007 15:55:06) works for the fusion channel mapping for my cable analog and qam with(cable option) and without psip(mapfusionname option), all at or above rf100.

i used my ini with a lot of the added "features" enabled while testing the channel mapping and didn't get any errors.

i did not test ota or multiple fusion tuners or remote fusion.

Allen - since I only have a MyHD card and don't have a Fusion card I have given up following this thread for the most part.

But I still care about Playlist manager. Is there still work going on updating this - as I see a new revision mentioned above but no discussion of changes.

Perhaps separate threads would be better when there are disparate programs involved

Thanks for your work so don't take this wrong.

I s'pect that if you hold your breath for a bit your wish will indirectly come about. What I'm saying is that after the next release of CW-EPG I'll probably be the only user of RT and the discussion in this thread will migrate back to the PLM.

Checking back a few posts you'll see that Sterno3 asked for the PLM to check subfolders. I responded that that feature had been asked for before but I was too busy then working on RT. Now that RT is mostly stable, well it was , I had time to look at it again. And it should be working now with that last post.

So yes, I'm still working on the PLM. Right now its being modified to use the new Helper which is only used with networked machines.

I still get the "send error report to MS" crash with this verion (compile date jan2, 2007 15:55:06) when using the ini file that works with the older version of Record_This posted by KAXKID. Using MapFusionName with this version for all of my stations produces the same D1092 scheduled for D920 error as before for stations below 100.

ps- the older KAXKID version worked last night and all 5 of my scheduled shows were recorded properly.

I expect that there will be more than a few folks who'll stick with RT, since they've got it working already and it does what they need to do. But, yes, the next CW_EPG full version will indeed support both MyHD and FusionHDTV with an easy-to-learn GUI frontend, so there likely will be a number who'll switch, as Allen predicts.

To say I'm getting pi__ed would be an understatement.
I've pm-ed you and would ask that, again, could you send me your operating ini and a log from the successful run with all approprioate options turned on?

I was sure I put it back the way it was. Actually I think I have the code from that May release. I'll look at that code and start thinking about a simulator to try and solve my screwup.

i know how to get the subtitle to appear in the log file and in the actual file name, but it is not getting included in the actual capture name as appears in the capture list in myhd or in myirc.

is there anyway to get this to show?
