That one on Craigs list?? Eh?

WOW...that guy had it listed like a month (or even more) back. For a long time I was wondering why someone had not picked it up for such a good price. I always thought it much have something wrong with it.

I would have... if I had that kind of money! :-) But I guess he must have lowered it by now.

Well... after seeing that Barco at your home, I would not worry about this little/much wear anymore!

Congratulations! I'll gladly contribute to the beer fund whenever you're ready to show off this beast.

Kills me to think I work not more than 10 minutes from where this G90 was living and didn't even know it was there. ARGGGGG. Glad to see it went to a home where it will be truely appreciated.

How'd you get the 240 lbs into the house?

I called up a neighbor buddy (he went to the U2 concert with us). He owed me a favor for helping him bail out 2 inches of water from their basement when their sump pump failed.

I just tried my PC... the max the nvidia video driver goes to is 1280x1024... I've got crisp scanlines at 1024p  :D

I've got to figure out how to add resolutions to that PC. Maybe it needs powerstrip.

But next I'll hookup my new laptop... it does 1920x1200 native.

Oh, I am sick... really, really sick :D

Sadly, I've been working more than I've been playing, and I've got some more weekend tasks too, but working at home today was more fun than usual.

Whoa! Can't think of a better person for this to happen to because....

We're all gonna get tons of pics/screenshots/etc for MONTHS!! Cool! The more the merrier Clarence. Don't be shy... pop the cover, take a pile of pics, email them to me and I'll post them on Curt's site for everyone to drool over.

Just got a brand new PJ last week and I'm already envious. :)

Congrats!

Very possible... I haven't checked G2 or any color adjustments yet. Not much green in those shots, but I'll check it.

20-30 minutes...

So far I've just done basic geometry, optical focus, aspect ratio, and 3 resolutions. I did a quick Contrast and Brightness check using the THX Optimizer setup on "The Incredibles".

You can still see some sloppy convergence in the corners.

And that was just from my Momitsu. I'm getting some funky ghosting from my DVI in HD. I don't know if it's because I changed my cable box to 720p and it's scaling from 1080i, but I'm noticing every little flaw in the source and conversions.

I didn't touch Schiempflug yet. I played with it on the seller's G90 last night though... it's pretty slick. And the digital controls for 2pole, 4pole, 6pole is incredible... and then there's "Expert Mode"

But I'm still trying to figure out convergence and memory blocks.

I printed out the manuals... I guess I should RTFM a little too.

This G90 is scary sharp... I swear that desktop icon text at 1280x1024 is sharper than the 19" CRT primary monitor that my HTPC is hooked up to.

Not all of us are self employed, out in the fresh air like you.

Some of us are wage slaves. Shackled to a desk, getting pasty from all the flourescent lighting (although it'd be a real trick for me to get "pasty")

Just dont tell the boss. :D

Laptop at 1920x1200 playing Shrek2 in HiDef. Wow. (and trust me... despite the previous screenshots, green is just fine after all)

The next resolution down on my laptop is 1680x1050... I get scanlines at 1050... so the sweetspot is around 1200.

MP and JBJR know how good 1200 looks from my laptop from when we hooked it up to his 9500.

Even more impressive to me than Shrek at 1200p is when I brought up IE to type up this post... the crisp text at 1920x1200 is too frickin' cool.

<<-- adds to the chorus YOU SUCK

But it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!

Have a great weekend!!!
Yo, Clarence... Paraphrasing a bunch, as I don't have an NVidia display on this PC.
Right-click on the desktop->NVidia->Analog Display. Scroll through the options to get the Display Resolution and TURN OFF the option "Limit to supported resolutions." You'll get a "you break it, you own it" disclaimer. Accept and then you should be able to set any resolution you like.
Beware that my 6600GT absolutely won't do 1080p/60. I have no idea why... it always defaults back to interlaced at 60 and 30 hertz.

Oh, and YOU SUCK

I might say that he cares - but he and the G90 are becoming one.........

Be the G90 Clarence......

Nah... just got back from taking the family out for dinner.

Before that, I made the mistake of trying to do a setup while the G90 was hooked up to Shrek 2 playing in HD on the laptop... my 6 year old came in and started watching the movie... dang... don't you hate it when someone in the family actually watches a movie on the projector while you're trying to play?!

but the good news... my wife saw the Shrek2 from the G90... I'm no longer in trouble :D

Thanks for the nvidia tip... I'll go poking through the settings. I know it's got to be capable of more because it's the same model as the nvidia card in my laptop... nvidia quadro FX 1400... and the laptop can easily do 1920x1200 so the PC should too.

I'm gonna put the boys in bed and then go see what this baby can do...

Yep... Aha: Right-click.. properties.. Monitor.. uncheck the box that says "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"

Now I have a ton of resolutions to choose from

more screenshots..... must have

Congratualations Clarence, it really looks great. Looks just like it is brand new to me.

I agree with Pete, we need more screenshots! And don't forget to put up your old 1080i Zenith pattern. We want screenshots, we want screenshots!

Lets see what this baby can do.

Which video card is it? If it is a newer one, then, all you need to do is set your monitor driver to something like the Sony GDM-W900. High Res monitor profile.
