, mentioned in a cinematography forum, that they'll shoot CSI: Miami digitally (DV) for the upcoming season. It's for cost savings, and many other dramas are switching from film, too, according to the article.
It'll be interesting to see whether DV capture and post processing will deliver Miami's familiar extra-saturated color. My preference: drop most of the camera filtering, go for deep focus more (don't defocus backgrounds), and down-convert from 4k+ shooting to boost effective resolution as much as possible. It'll be a struggle, but suspect I could still follow the story line. -- John
