"CSI: Miami" on CBS in HD - Page 19

That is indeed a wow.
Interesting move by CBS. I wonder how CSI: Miami will do on Sunday's considering it's been a Monday program for 4+ years.

Just watched a DVRd CSI: Miami. It was a lot of fun. They seem to have "juiced" up David Caruso's character for a change; reminded me a lot of his character on Michael Hayes (which I loved!).

And I'm so happy that Jesse is gone -- I actually cheered out loud when they pronounced him dead; that guy was a punk on the show and is a punk in real life. Still I hope they let him know last year that it was just a one-year gig while "Eric" was busy on Ugly Betty. Glad to have Eric back full-time this year.

And you have to love how intentionally cheesy the show can be. How funny was the last line last night, as H was about to shoot a digitally altered free-throw shot: "This is for Jesse." LOL. What if he missed, would that have been for Jesse? I love it.

meh. his death was so lame.. they lamely explained it.. like because he hit his head he died of oxygen depravation? I thought he died because he fell near the floor vent and breathe more gas than the others, they could also said that his head trauma was fatal but they didn't...

I called the accomplice was the blonde since she denied to answer Boa Vista's questions.

When she was tied up, I also commented out loud.. "that's a setup, rifle problably has no bullets or blanks"

This Sunday time slot is the kiss of death for this show. Viewership will decline drastically because nobody knows when the show will actually start due to the football delays. Also, all the DVR's that are set to record, will not record the actual show. Too bad.

You may be right but not necessarily! If you record the show on a DVR just record the following show as well and you will get the entire thing (in most cases).

If you have Comcast, forget about the DVR and use On Demand. That's what I do and I never miss a beat!

But it may very well be the kiss of death although I hope not.

Yup, I just DVR it and watch in on Monday's at 10:00 just like always. I'm not a fan of H50 at all and miss CSI Miami in it's old time slot.

If you have a good DVR it will be name based to record New episodes (Dish 722k) so it won't matter when they air.

I was not aware the Dish 722 had this capability. I have a DirecTV HR21 and I have to set it to record the following hour to make sure the show is recorded.

What "schedule" does it get the name from?

All Dish DVRs have name based capability for the last 2 years at least, even the solo HD receivers with an external hard drive can record this way.

TV Guide or whatever guide sets the weekly schedule

Exactly. But the issue being discussed was that the start times are almost always delayed for Sunday night programming on CBS during football season. The guides are not updated within the short timespan between the end of the last game and the start of the regular programming. You indicated earlier that "it doesn't matter when they air". That's only true if the guide that your DVR relies on has been updated to reflect the delayed starting time. And that just doesn't happen . . .

Edit: I just noticed that you are on the west coast. You may not be affected by the delayed start times to the same degree that people in the Eastern or Central time zones are.

Yes, we on Eastern time are almost always affected by delayed start times on Sunday evening during football season. The only solution I know is to pad the recording time by an hour for the CBS Sunday evening programs.

Or, if available, use On Demand the next day!

My HD DVR reminds me of the recording one minute before the start of the show, so I change to CBS if they are running on schedule, if not, then I record more time.

Really a bad decision to change this program for Sunday in the evening. Why not earlier on Monday night? like 8:00pm?

I commented to my wife after the last 2 episodes that Emily Procter sure looked like she'd Struther'd up this season (props to Sally). I googled Ms. Procter and it turns out she's pregnant. Guess that's why every shot of her so far that I can recall is from her shoulders up if it's a tight shot or of her hidden behind some furniture/props if it's a distant shot.

After her lip/face job a few years ago I thought she'd lost her natural beauty--but after seeing her this season I was starting to think she'd hit the wall.

This last episode her lips look like she has a bad botox job.

I just don't understand why women do this. She was so attractive without botox, and in my opinion didn't need any help. It's okay to grow old gracefully; why do these stars think they have to try to look like they're 25 for the rest of their lives.

I agree, it was difficult to ignore the engorged look of her lips.

Well, in her case, being an annoyingly terrible 42 year old actress, maybe she felt she needed something extra to stay fresh/vibrant/new, to compete with the younger talent hungry for work. Not that I agree with that, but it is an extremely cut-throat business where a puffier set of lips just might make the difference.

Looking at Emily Procter's lips the last few weeks reminded me of when I saw Taryn Manning pop up on Hawaii 5-0 last week---ouch---wtf are these women thinking when they muck up their lips/faces ?!?!?

Nikki Cox anyone ?!?!
Yes, Nikki Cox virtually destroyed her face and probably her career when she had her lip-job done, it was downright awful, I think she's made only one TV appearance since Las Vegas.

I sadly remember her appearance on an episode of "Ghost Whisperer" with her hubby Jay Mohr.

Ouch

As the episode unfolded with Joe LeBrock digging a hole in his jail cell, I thought I was watching Prison Break. I mean seriously that is the exact same thing that Scholfield, and Sucre did to break out of fox river. lol.

Good episode last night. Looks like Memo got away though. It will be interesting to see how they bring him down.

I enjoyed it.

I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this question. For those who DVR'd the most recent show (10/24) did you find that you missed about the last 15 minutes of the show because for some reason Undercover Boss went that amount of time past it's allotted time? I'm in the Boston area with Comcast as my provider if that is of any useful info.

That's because of football. All of the CBS Sunday night programming was running about 15 minutes late . . .

Get used to it........ It happens weekly until February. Usually it's more like 30-45 minutes.
Sure there was a lot of Boa Vista last Sunday and zero Procter?

I love Eva myself, she's so nice....

Yep, that's the way it is! Just record both CSI: Miami and the program following! You'll get it all then.

Alternately, if using Comcast, watch it on On Demand the next day! That's what I do!
