If it's between $30 and $40 then the cost difference isn't that great and I can credibly read Verizon the riot act and not be bluffing.
Regular Receiver Pricing is:
HD STB = $7.99/mo*
HD DVR - $7.99* + $9.99 DVR Service Fee = $17.98/mo
(* + Advanced TV Fee of $6.00/mo for the First Receiver, the second is usually a reduced rate, in AZ it is $2.00, I consider this a hidden fee, but may not apply to newer contracts. This Fee is not even listed in the AZ Pricing List)
You could probably get a good price on a bundle w/ a 2yr contracthttp://ww2.cox.com/residential/north...es/compare.cox
Some Bundles include DVR service, check your junk mail, Cox AZ always has good pricing for new customers.
Cox Advanced TV - $44.99 for 24 months *http://ww2.cox.com/residential/north..._splash_011111

If my Account was not so old this fee would probably be included in an Advanced TV Package.
But since it is ~12yrs old, Cox AZ Charges an Addt'l Advanced TV fee of $3.00/mo for the 1st, and $2.00 for each addt'l receiver. At least that is what Cox says.
