edit: Hopefully, I will be getting the CSi A6 soon. Once I do, I will gladly post a comparison between the CSi A6 and CSi3 (A4).

I'm sorry, I was thinking of the RTi 6 versus the 4; not the CSi A6 versus A4. That'll teach me to read. Ignore my other comment.

Ah, I thought I was about to make a poor investment. No worries.

Yup, they sure are! Seeing them on sale for $149 makes me want to order yet another pair, maybe to use as surrounds... or maybe I need hi-def in the laundry room.... or in the garage

That was a promo email from NewEgg last week.
I don't know if it's still on, and I've deleted the email.

these be decent for a CSspeaker that sits under the tv, and rear surrounds?

Now that I got my rti12s and ill be getting the matching csi center channel from Polk eBay. How important is it to have The surrounds matching as well? Right now I have a pair of optimus pro lx lenium for the job.

Probably want to make sure your L/R are the same make and series speaker as the center your looking at.

Not important to have the surrounds match the L/C/R.

Cool, thanks. Set the crossover for the fronts L/R? Anything for the sub? it's just a cheapo 10" powered Sony, only has one connection on it.

Set the sub to the same number you set the fronts to.

Did everything mentioned here, everything sounds much better. More clarity, and the I can make out finer details now with the fronts.

I was looking to replace my rears, right now I have some small Sony bookshelves. The rear left and right are larger, and the rear channels are a bit smaller. Anyways I was looking to pickup 4 monitor 30's to replace all the rear channels. I looked at 40's, but they seem to be on the larger side than what I'd like on my walls.

How do the 30's sound, anyone have any experience with those?

I personally dont as I went with the 40's but wish I went with the 30's. Much easier to place and have a built in mount.

They will work perfect for surround duties. Pick up 2 sets and call it a day.

P.S. you might want to cross them over at around 80 hz or more......

+1

I got 30's as surrounds and very happy!

I reviewed the material on Polk's site but I was not sure if the dimensions of the new monitors were identical to the originals. Can someone confirm that this is the case.

They should be close if not identical.

Random question, does anyone know where you can get speaker screens for Polk Monitor7s made in the 1970s? My dad has a pair and the screens got broken while my brother used them in college. Speakers still sound amazing though. I am hoping to kind of "restore" them. Thanks.

I know Polk supplies grills for some of their OOP models. Give em a call, they might have some.

I'm having polk monitor 70's and 30's delivered later this week along with a Yamaha A3000 receiver. I had a few questions. Do you guys feel that the 70's should be bi-amped to properly power them? I had intended in doing a standard 5.1 setup with front presence speakers making it 7.1. Which would prevent me from bi-amping. My next question if the 70's don't require me to bi-amp, would the 30's be best served as presence speakers or as the surrounds? The other pair of speakers I'm using are the RM6751. Thanks for any suggestions.

I think your Yam puts out around 140wpc for two channels driven, which would be pretty decent for the 70's. Running a 5.1 or 7.1, the sound will still be pretty good, but having an additional power amp for the 70's would be better. The 30's make great surrounds.

Have the 703. Will be getting the smaller center as my budget, and the right deal, permits.

Care to give us a review of the speakers? There does not seem to be too many people in this thread that have the new LSiM speakers so the reviews have been sparse.
