Wow, that looks pretty crazy. Definitely not overkill IMO. I still think you could fit another pair of A9's in there somewhere lol.

2000 watts of speakers just in the front. Are they all getting full power?

Pretty sick Geoff4RFC. I am a little envious. LOL

You're funny man... Those speakers were insane. cool.gif A couple of 5000 watt electrostats and a pair of 3000 watt 18" concert subs would do it too... LMAO

200 to the wides, 300 to the mains. After I acquire an XPA-5, I'll double up the wattage and send 400 to the mains, the wides will then inherit the 300 and the FXiA6's will get 200, right now, the surrounds are getting 135 from the AVR.

To complete the set up (eventually), trade up the 807 for a 3009, then we can add another set of FX's for heights and they'll get fed from the AVR, I believe it's 140 for 2ch.

Yeah, I bought them new. I love them for music and theater.

Hehehehe..... stop thinking and KNOW smile.gif.

I am hoping to get a set of CRS+ in the near future to go with the Onkyo A-7022 that hopefully I am picking up today. That or the SDA 1c's. I dont have room for the bigger boys just yet since my wife wont let me put them as my fronts frown.gif in the HT setup. But someday I will. Maybe some of the 2.3TL's hehehe...

Just factor in if you get a set spending 1k on upgrades to really make em good, then you wont ever want to part with them hehehe..

That or Lovan - Jazz or VTI VSP stands. All of them are good choices....

Thanks for the suggestion. They will sit on an entertainment stand. I plan to build stands to raise the speakers to the proper level. Should only require a few inches.

Those A9's look amazing. I have yet to try wides or heights. I will eventually get a set of FXiA6 and call it quits for awhile. Books and tuition have quite a damper on my speaker cash.

I would suggest getting some Auralex speaker isolation pads. They will raise the speakers up a couple inches and help isolate them so you might not even need to build stands. I would factor one pair per speaker and another pair for your center since I assume its also going to be on the entertainment stand. They will make a difference.

I got the Auralex subdude hd for my sub and it also made a decent difference as well. I use it even though I am on carpet.

Looking at Geoff's pic, the first thing I thought of was that room would be great for SDAs. I'm still running 1Cs & 2Bs in my smallish FR and I've played with the CRS+ for a few months. With SDAs you don't want or need heights or wides, it will muck up the soundstage. Anyway Ender, if you have a smallish room <2500 cube, 1Cs or SRS2s will give you every bit of the SDA experience, wall to wall +, floor to ceiling, deep impactful bass and incredibly smooth mids and highs...addictive.

Ron I really wished you lived closer so I could give all those a listen. The room I have now for my office at home is NOT SDA friendly (10x12) so getting a set now is a no go. The Onkyo I am hopefully getting (with help from a Polk member in Milwaukee) can drive them pretty good IMHO and has pre-outs. If I had an office at work rather than a cubicle I would totally get the CRS's just because of their size and portability. 1C's are in my future someday, I am hoping to actually use them as my fronts when we get a house as the plan is a acoustically transparent wall with projector screen on it so I can put whatever non WAF speakers I want in it so they are hidden but still sound sexy smile.gif.

If I get the Onkyo I will post some pics because the bronze/champagne faceplate is just too hot not too!

I have read your posts and pay particular attention. With that said I have semi-joined your camp with respect to speaker break in. I held the theory that one adjusts to the sound as apposed to the sound changing. I am now thinking that the sound projected may vary:p. With that said, I suggest you get ears on the LSI. Phenomenal! To say the least.

Just ordered a set of Monitor 60's with the CS1 for my living room setup. I chose the 60's instead of the 70's because I decided to grab the insanely priced and well reviewed Energy S3 sub to provide the bass. It'll be powered with my new Denon 2113CI. Can't wait to get it fired up!

I can't believe you don't have any restraining orders against you yet. LOL Do the friggin seismic sensors go off in your area?
That's pretty funny! Actually, last night I was watching The Wolfman after just rearranging the subs in between the speakers, in a couple of LFE spots, there was some serious vibrations coming from the right side of the room.

During the second set of vibrations, I started doing the rewind and check for the vibration area, turned out the be one of the panels on the side wall next to the right wide speaker. The wall is a slat wall, I pressed real hard on it and the vibration stopped. I'm gonna need to put some acoustic panels over there.

Geoff I would suggest playing with toe in with those speakers. It might help it sound even better.

Right on Enders, I've been messing around with toe in for a bit. Since I've moved the mains in closer, I don't have them toed in quite so much although they are slight, the wides are slight as well. I just took a peek and by golly, think I'll take your advice and toe both sets in a bit more and see what we get.

Be catching you soon.

I think there is a graph in audysseys site that tells you what angles you want for your mains and wides from the main LP. I would use that graph. It's a PITA to post from my iPhone or I would look for it for you.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The ideal location for the Wide speakers is along the side walls at 60° out from the center channel. To find the right spot, measure the distance from the center speaker to the left speaker. Then double it. That's where the Left Wide speaker should be placed. Repeat for the right side. The idea is to separate the Wides from the main left and right speakers so that their content is clearly coming from a different (wider) direction.

The link to the graph is here: http://www.audyssey.com/audio-technology/audyssey-dsx#techdetails

Hmmm, link changed to something else when I clicked on it. Never the less, I will go in and check out, Thanks!

Interesting observation; with a single empire, audyssey set all my speakers to 40hz. With dual empires and previous set up (earlier picture) Wides 40hz, mains 70hz, center 40hz and surrounds 70hz.

Then with recent toe in of both mains and wides, all is the same but mains and surrounds change from 70 to 60hz.

I'll check out the link and see where I may differ with my eyeball toe in.

Everyone should start posting more pics of their Polk speakers considering this is the Official Polk thread. I want to see more pics whether old or new smile.gif

Here's a preview video, audio leave a little to be desired, but shows the power none-the-less. I will be posting a video with both pre-and post Emotiva XPA-2 soon. Using the same songs too.

Here you can really see how hard to drivers are pushing even with 140 WPC!

Nice set-up. Love the video.

Enders, I believe you have a set of LSI15's. Would it be too much to ask if you could measure the height of you tweeter from the floor? I am measuring for stands and figure that would be an excellent frame of reference.

You mean you don't have a camera set up in your room that you can remote activate and measure the speakers??? Come on man, it's 2012... LOL eek.gif

Just sitting here in my garage smokin a cigarette waiting for the FEDEX truck (I'm hoping it's like dinner. You light up a smoke and your meal arrives... LOL). My components are all pulled out in the living room (kinda sounds dirty doesn't it) waiting to set up my XPA-2... COME ON FEDEX!

Hehehe.. I also have a Carver M1.0t (500 wpc @ 4 ohm) waiting on me at work as well. That puppy should drive my LSi 15's to exploding smile.gif. Now working on either picking up another one (for my center), or picking up a Sunfire True MK II sub to replace my PSW125, or get the M1.0t recapped so it will last another 30 years.

Gonna keep on slowly trying to move up lol...

New AVR in my future as well. Not sure if its going to be a Pioneer (one of the ones with ICE amps) that might let me run my 4 ohm surrounds off it or a Onkyo 709 which would requiring me to run all channels off dedicated amps still...

We will see how things shake out, but there is a chance my PSW125 and Carver 705x might be up for grabs in the near future eek.gifeek.gif
