Just picked up the RTi8's at Fry's for $150 each. Also got a CSIA4 and a PSW110 sub. I was going to do a similar deal (although with the Monitor 50's) through Crutchfield, but this was a far better offer since they had the Subwoofer credit. Hopefully the wife approval factor is in effect.

I got a pair of Rti8 at frys too but I had to pay for shipping so that bumps me up a bit.

Where can I get CSi5 center for $200? Are you talking about the all black one with the grill though?

For that matter, how does the CSi5 compare to the CSi3? Am I missing out?

What is your budget for sub? Your room dimensions will also help.

for $250 Bic H-100 is pretty good. for $350 A2-300 from edesign is an excellent value. hop onto subwoofer section there are lot of threads asking for subwoofer suggestions.

I picked them up on black Friday for $199, anyone else have this set? How do they sound?

I have RM10 5.1 with Yamaha V1500 for a few years in a 12x16 apt.
Sound great & will go loud if u want it. I got some Atlantic stands at Walmart $60 for 2 pairs.
Ran the autosetup on the AVR & it set the subwoofer at 200hz. Is way too high. I set it at 100Hz & much better.

Who knows but if it does it's at a great price. It gives me more time to decide on the AVR and SW, even though I'm pretty sure I will get whats on my sig one way or the other

I recently purchased the 3808 Denon and with the great prices through Fry's on the RTi12s....seriously considering them. Would the Denon be enough to push them? Any concerns?

The 12s are a beast, it takes some power to move those 7 inch woofers, I would recommend at least 200 watts on them to get them to sound good and prevent damage. I was biamping them with Outlaw M2200s monoblocks paired with my Sony 7100es AVR. They performed well, however Im now running 525 watts to each speaker with my new Magnum 1000s from D-sonic and they sound excellent now. Bottom line, the 3808 will do the trick at low to med volume levels, however I recommend an amp, 200 watts or more bro. Use that Denon as your pre/pro and go seperate amplification.

Thanks for the tips....tough to turn down the 12's for <$700 for the pair. Maybe I will consider the 10's for now.

Walked into the store and purchased them. The guy seemed to indicate they had quite a bit of stock. No cherry, just the black ones (which I wanted). I'm sure the stock varies from store to store, but they had at least 2 here at the AZ Fry's I went to.

hey guys, i need clarification on something. i just picked up a pair of R50's and CSR center channel speakers from frys and am looking at the onkyo 304 and 505 receivers and wanted to know if these receivers will power these ok. thanks for your input.

Do you guys use one, or two R15 as center ? My friend has R50 front, R15 rear, now thinking of a center; but how can you beat the price of two R15 ? By the way, he might use R30 as side, or R50 as side, or R15 as side? Good value of Polk, it confuses people.
Use only one R15 as a center.

The old-style CSi25, if you can find one, has the exact same drivers as the R15 and makes a very good center. You can always use an R50/R30 as a center as well if you have the space.

For quite a while I used 2 R-15's connected in series as a center and it worked very well. The fact that is presents a 16 ohm load to your receiver doesn't usually matter as most are rated up to 16 ohms, and 16 ohms actually draws less current so it helps in some respects. To hook them up just use one small piece of speaker wire as a jumper (a single conductor approx 10" long) to connect a red terminal on one speaker to the black terminal on the other. Then just connect the regular speaker cables from the receiver to the open red (the one not connected to the jumper) on the one speaker and the open black on the other. See the attached pix of my system when I had this setup.

How much better is the CS2 compared to the CS1. I want to get the monitor 60s and use my monitor 40s as surrounds.
Why would you use two R15s as a center?

Did you compare with using one R15?
Well, they were out of the 10s, so a pair of RTi12's were purchased.

I have a question for you guys, I currently have the following setup :

Denon AVR587 receiver

Fronts : Rti8

Center : Csi3

Rear : monitor 20

Sub: Bic H100

I was going to get a pair of Fix3's to replace my rears but with the deal going on with the Rti8's they would come out to almost the same price so I was thinking of using the rti8's as my front and rear surround. Is this a good idea? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My 505 works great with the R50s and CSR. Also have R150s for rear, and an 8" Polk sub. Great sounding setup.

I have a Onkyo 705 in my 15x15 bedroom with no speakers. I need the rear and side channels to be in wall (wife thing). Can I run the 551's read and side and use a cs1 center and Mon 30's in front with a psw10 sub?

I know this is strange for a bedroom, but I have a sammy 4071 in there.

If you have space for Rti8's as rears go for it.

so I went to Fry's picked up the rti12s, fxi5s, psw505 and csia4. Running it with my onkyo 605. Sounds good so far, but I wonder if the csi5 would be better as the center since its the recommended center for the set up on polkaudios website. I got amazon prime, but debating crutchfield cus of their return policy.

Thank you, I had no idea how to use "jumper" method before. Just curious, if two speakers are connected by "Y" method, what would happen?

I'm not familiar with the csia4 but I got the CSi5 after comparing it with the CSi3.

Hows the comparison between the CSi3 and CSi5?

I just ordered the CSi5 from Crutchfield, free shipping, and free return in case in dont like it (i have a feeling it wont be the case). I have a feeling the Csia4 is just the updated model of the Csi3. So i'll see how it sounds and give an update when i get it. Considering the Csi5 is an older model or discontinued model..and it still costs more than the new csia4, i'm going to assume it's better. But i guess it'll still depend on how it sounds to the ears, right now my Csia4 makes the voices sound a little muffled.

The CSi3 was good but I found dialogue to be crisper and clearer with the CSi5...probably because it is huge. I have it between two RTi8's.
