welcome to the club guys, It sounds like we need to pool resouces and make a group order at some point. I want an pre/pro and amp within 6 months, Perhaps emotiva would do that, they are just a couple hours from me

m70s, m40, m30 are now marked as discontinued on newegg.

I guess we will all have to start buying rtia series then what a shame...

Yep. The 75T is still a lot of bang for the buck at the $219 they are going for now. The 70's at $150 were a steal. The 75T's will probably hold near that price til near the end of the model run and drop below that. It was good times for the 70 owners while it lasted.

I want the 75t under 200 for me to bite, 45b under 150, and 25c near 120.

They'll get there eventually. I'm sure you have more patience than I do. I'm just glad I'm not currently in the speaker hunt. Hurts my head.

Hello Polkies:

I have read many reviews on various websites about these speakers but I'd love to get some feedback from AVS forum members who may currently be using them or have owned them in the past. Although not high-end, they seem like they are a good fit for what I need and are reasonably priced.

Polk Audio 265RT (in-wall)
Polk Audio 255C-RT (in-wall center speaker)
Polk Audio RC80i (in-ceiling)

Considering using the 265RT's for L & R fronts, 255C-RT for center and RC80i's for rears in basement media room. All would be used along with a Polk DSW Pro 550wi sub.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

I have no experience with in-wall speakers but I think you can do better than that sub. I'd head over to the subwoofer forum and get some suggestions. Post your room size and budget.

I do have the RC80i at my room and I'm using them as surround speakers in combination with RTi A9's and CSi A6 and they are able to keep up with these bad boys. So, I think you will be fine with them as surrounds as well. However, if you want to have a perfect timbre matched system, I would recommend you to check/consider this speaker as surround: 80F/X-RT (part of the same family).

On the 265 and 255C, they are actually timbre match for the RTi family and therefore, I think they will work pretty well for you (assuming that you have limited space and your only option is to use in-wall speakers). I was looking at the 265 before and I'm still thinking on adding a pair of them at my room as presence speakers.

So, if you pull the trigger on these, please report back.

When I get my sub, (either PB1000/PB12-NSD/Rythmik F12) the TSI100's sats say they can do a lower -3db limit of 61 hz, but I'm guessing a TSI100 @ 80 hz would sound nothing like an SVS or Rythmik at the same 80 hz?

I'm still trying to track down some Monitor 30 Series II's or some TSI100's in black, I wonder if the TSI100's price is going to stay stable, or drop soon?

The sub will just take over anything below 80Hz and give you much better bass than the speakers could ever produce. The main speakers are just going to do what they can do above that. Of course the better the main speakers the better the sound. Never know about the prices. Looks like you're on the right track for subs.

Edit: The better your mains are the better off you'll be. I got the best mains my budget allowed and then saved for a sub. You'll be better off in the long run.

LOL, doesnt stop me..... I am looking to move from Monitor 60's to Polk RTA 11TL's are a BEAST of a speaker lol...

They got a normal tweeter, 2 6 1/2's and then 2 8" woofers ..

Bet they can bring the bass to dubstep using my new tube amp

What's the difference between the R series the Monitor series and the Tsi series? Do they all sound the same? Is R and good as Tsi?

The R series are the Reference series and a good jump up from the Monitor and Tsi series. Better drivers/ crossovers.

I wish my kids were 4 months old...daughter is 7, and my son is 4....at times I am ready just to run away!!! LOL.

I feel you. I actually have 2 others 3 years old.

I know how you feel. My granddaughter is in her terrible twos. When I baby sit I wanna yell mercy sometimes. I'm too old to take it full time any more. Done had my share after three kids. I was a single dad with my youngest son.

You guys should see how it gets over here when all my nephews and nieces come around..........I wish I could put an electrical fence around my HT. I've replaced 5 speakers out of my 7.1 set up due to my kids / nieces / nephews putting holes, spilling soda and dropping my speakers when I am not around.

Better you than me my friend. But seriously, that had to hurt.
