My first thought in general would be probably not. What is your room size and how far will they be from you?

The room is 38x16. First row of seats is about 14 feet. So the heights would be roughly 14ft. The surrounds can be mounted on the side walls or ceiling. I prefer the ceiling looks wise but wall might be better sound wise. Either location would put them where they belong but the ceiling would put them at a height of 9ft. The ceiling is unfinished at this point. I'm saving for sound proofing material.

My guess is he linked to the post as he is able to manage it from his craigslist account...not how it appears to the public.

Not sure if its just my store or all of them but frys has the A5's for 239.

Also had to (hopefully) talk a customer into a pair of ten because the salesman was trying to sell him some tsx 440's for 280 each.
So everyone here talks up emotiva amps. But what's the word on crown? I've seen alot of people talk about them on other threads.

Since we all like to spend each others money I would say dual Cap2's would be a good starting point.eek.gif

I may put on sale my RTi A9s + CSi A6 for $1250 (local pickup only), is that price OK? The RTi A9s still have 3 years of warranty.

Not sure what the eBay price usually is on the 9's but seems very reasonable to me.

I'm going to be moving into an apartment. Probably by this fall. This Rythmik ain't gonna work if I value my life.

I'd really like to move to the Mt. Shasta area. I really like it there. Problem is there are no jobs that pay worth a crap in that area. I could get my son to move there if he could get a decent job. Rent there is dirt cheap. Gotta stay close to family.

Find my son a job and I'm outta here. biggrin.gif  Love being in the middle of good hunting and fishing in that area. Yeah, that's right, I killed Bambi's daddy.

$1000.00 or I'll accept one bar of gold from Ft. Knox.

Bah, I don't have a Fry's in my state, or remotely close.

RTi A5 - LR
RTi A1 - SR
CSi A4 - C

Now the waiting game begins, hopefully Newegg runs a deal on them soon. I've been researching speakers for 6 months , and I've had these Yamaha NS-555's since 2003... I'm READY!

You would likely be more pleased with a Csi5 rather than the smallish RtiA4. The A6 is a nice center and can sometimes be found for under $400 as an open box item, but the Csi5 is the same speaker in an older cabinet design, with silver trim rather than solid black, and is regularly available thru Polk eBay for $225.

12ft ceiling. My room is a converted garage, so I think those would sound pretty nice in the room.

I'm trying to figure out what won't be overkill for my space, and pairing the right RTi speakers to my AVR so I can drive them. I'm hoping you guys can give me some suggestions, and I'm open to any setup in the RTiA series. I can go bookshelf across the front, or tower. I have the setup to line up the LCR nicely either way.

My AVR is a Yamaha RX-V673
My living room is 12ft x 12ft x 8ft High. The living room is attached to a dining room, that is 8ft x 11.5ft.
I sit roughly 10ft from the LCR.
I will be using this setup mainly for movies, and gaming.

I would deffinitely up the center. The A5/A3 choice will be similar in your room and then A1 as surrounds should be plenty.

Well, the area I used to hunt had to be a 4 point or better buck. That would be 8 points for you easterners. Ever wonder why there was no sequel to the movie? I gave up hunting though so I'd just be fishing. Should be fine with 110w presuming you don't wanna crank it really loud.

Rti8's - or RtiA5's - are great for smaller rooms. A3's are good bookshelf speakers but have their limits. Best thing I could recommend for your room is Rti8 fronts (~$400/pr), Csi5 center ($225) and RtiA3 surrounds. All have the same 6" drivers and are very well matched. I use RtiA5's in the bedroom and RtiA3's as fronts in the family room, primarily for TV and background music, and they perform very well in those smaller rooms... about 12x14.
