That would be redundant and a waste of a Sherbourn IMO. In a blind test you likely won't hear a difference. Of course your ears may be better than mine. That's my escape clause for the guys who have golden ears. Personally I would sell the Sherbourn or use it in a 2nd system where you don't need the receiver's bells and whistles.
This is helpful... I could end up selling ti very quickly, which won't be a bad idea at all given how much I got it for, and the fact that I could actually use the cash... And my ears aren't golden: what they are is "hungry" and "insatiable".... I should be more than happy with what my LSIM set is giving me now on the HT and Music front(And I actually am, since, nowadays, I often catch myself smiling involuntarily with wonder at the almost endless sonic riches those babies always seem to grace my ears with both in HT and in music)... Alas, I do not seem ever able to shake the notion that I could get even better sound, with one more added component or another, which I probably could, but ultimately, there are very definite, compelling limits to where my budget might allow this insatiable bug to take me... At the same time, I owe these totally knockout LSIMs pretty much to the same bug, so I guess I can't cry too much about my "bug" As for this Pre-1, I'm not going to lose any sleep over selling it, so gone it is, if it really can't add anything substantial to what I already have
