Sounds monstrous compared to the A4. Wouldn't even fit where I have it now.

That's easy to fix. Just buy a new A/V rack.

You have our permission to buy all the gear you want. AFTER you talk to the wife. biggrin.gif Never mind, it's your life on the line. Buy away.

I'm single smile.gif so no WAF to worry about over here, Im only waiting for holiday season to see if there are any sales on the fxia6 anywhere. but, im getting impatient, i might just get them off the polk ebay store

Is there a big difference between the RTI A1 and RTI A3? I am considering wall mounting them for a basement 5.1 HT. I am just not sure if I should do 4 A1s or A3 fronts and A1 rears. I do like the bigger A3s but per specs they are 14" deep, they would seem to really stick off the wall next to a wall mounted TV.

Also what price should I look to pay for the A1s and A3s? Thanks.

Well, I guess at +17 dB's with the song War by DJ Diplo was a little too much for my AVR cause it shut off completely lol. Santana hasn't sound so awesome biggrin.gif

Yeah, I am definitely not hearing them amp fans at all biggrin.gif Listening to Metallica. This is a pretty awesome amp. Damn M70 sound pretty darn awesome now. 300 wpc compared to 135 from the AVR woke them up eek.gif

My neighbors are hating me now!

for IC's, i use these with both my xpa-5 and xpa-2 with no problems. they come in different lengths if you need longer or shorter ones.

I dig those. Thanks for the link, that will come in handy down the road!

Just wondering, did you get those 12's?

(not so hot for movies) and my newly aquired Jbl es250p that's supposedly 400w rms and a 12" forward firing speaker and bottom port on it. It's enough to rattle my dishes but sounds muddy for music. Is it just a matter of playing with the crossovers or should I perform some other procedure such as just turning the jbl off for music use?

Congrats on your new 8's, that's pretty awesome! I'm sure e v e n t u a l l y you'll be able to get them into the room a bit better to improve the imaging.

A3's for fronts for sure, then do your A1's for rear. Check the Polk ebay site for some good refurb prices, you can't lose.

Sounds good. I still got lots of beer from the wedding. I'm slowly killing them out...I think. Got lost of ribs, ribblets, and tri tip in the fridge.

Damn, Bob Marley sounds super duper now. I can't believe this little amp is making such a difference. The M70's tweeters are somewhat on the bright side, but with the amp that brightness toned down cool.gif

You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song, and you'll never feel
Left all alone

I took all of the necessary screw off, and for some reason or another the top seemed to be stuck in the middle area. I was kind of scare I might mess it up so I put it back together. Time to test it biggrin.gif

If you find the amp fan bothering (you will during movie time) re-unscrew (biggrin.gif:) the screws and lift the lid from the back. If memory serves there is a lip in the front that secures under the faceplate.

I place a piece of black foam in front of the lights to block. They can be blinding.

Quick edit: There are also 2 screws on the top middle under two sticker puck-like thingys.

How is that move?
It's is AWESOME!!! Dialog is so clear, vocals sound amazing. BTW the 706C is specifically designed as a center speaker for dialog. It's very obvious when you run Audyssey. During calibration you can hear the difference when the calibration tone hit the 706C. The tone sounds more high pitch in the center than in the rest of the speakers. Don't get me wrong, it's the same timbre but less warm than the 705s and the 703s.

Interesting! Don't' tell anyone, but I've been considering the 706 for quite some time, and of course, another series upgrade cool.gif
