Thank you Enrico! There is yet another A9 owner with the preference of 703's for music.

It was Stanley that suggested that a blind buy would be worth my while for 703 2ch as I had already suspected this to be true.

Good deal glad you got it sorted out...now ya just need to get the avr and amp off the floor! tongue.gif

When you can lay a little volume down, and you have a tiny respect for "classic" rock, I encourage you to listen to these tracks; From Eric Clapton's "Complete Clapton" White Room (Cream), Bell Bottom Blues (Derek and the Dominoes) and Let it Grow.

Now granted, there are plenty of awesome hits on this two disc CD, but these listed are a couple of my personal fav's, something that I think you'll all enjoy biggrin.gif

I've never understood how a speaker can be considered "better" for HT or music....the speaker dont care what the source is...they either sound good or don't!

So is the RTi / RTiA line good for music or not? Lately, my wife and I listen to more music than watching movies.

i've demo'd several speakers in the rtia line including the a9's and with the right source and power they are pretty awesome playing music.

of course since geoff is the a9 whore 'round these parts, his thoughts should carry more weight then mine.

For you, if you're going 2.0, check out the 703's, reported to be a fantastic musical speaker with impressive bass. You can always add to the H.T. arena later.

I would love to go with LSi, but those are a little over my budget.

cr136124, If you can do me a favor, can you let me know if he is selling the LSIC alone without other stuff and how much does he want? Thanks a lot. My own ranking in the Polk classifieds is too junior, apparently (the stupidest thing I've ever heard, BTW!)

Monitor 70's haven't been this low for awhile:

I think they are referring to the bright sound of the A9s sounding great for movies and the warm sound of the 703s being preferred for music.

I simply adjusted the equalizer settings in the AVR and viola. cool.gif

You can get a pair of 703's for the same price as a pair of A9's.

Plus, you could always go the rout I'm going; build you system around the RTiA's then get the 703's down the road.

I sure wish I could hear the 70's but I haven't seen them anywhere. Are you guys sure the Rti8's are that much better? I'll be using them for movies and music (classic rock) in a 24x18 enclosed room 100wpc. The prices on the 60's and 70's just seem stupid low and really hard to pass up. One thing I was considering, was to pick up either the 60's or 70's and then down the road move them in to my smaller cave 12x12 which now has a HTIB. At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself to do. lol.

$275 Who knows how much for shipping.tongue.gif I can't buy any more speakers since I still have mine. The guy buying my subs should be here any time now. After that a friend of mine said he would buy most of my towers rolleyes.gif If that happens then I will consider buying the 703, but I really want towers for the front :P.

I think the RTi8's would be worth the extra $100 for a pair. My son has the 70's and will probably spring for the 8's and sell the 70's. He'll be able to A/B them so time will tell. It'll be a few weeks before he does it.

My pleasure.

Now, as Gus mentioned above, you will need to factor price and shipping for this speaker. But, nothing wrong on touching base with the seller and see you can negotiate something with him.

Good luck!

Wish I had the room for a dedicated 2 channel system. I'd buy this for an old school system. Of course to me it's not that old.  :D

Next time around you'll end up with an even better sub. That's the bright side.

I can't comment on the 70s myself but I sure do enjoy my 8s and I picked them up for $125/each. I think the patience would be worth the benefit.
