Oh my...with my new surrounds in place, I popped in Led Zeppelins live DVD this morning, and I gotta say that this is as close to being at a concert that I've ever experienced. The sound that these Polk speakers put out is so clear and accurate, it just amazing. I think I'm going to be happy with these for quite awhile.

The price for getting the RTi12 and CSi5 is pretty much the same as getting the Empteks E55Ti and E56Ci. Decisions decision!

So, no excuse!!!!

I have heard the RTI A is less bright then the RTI. The cabinet is diffrent there will be some benefit. Is it worth $86 per speaker, hard to say. You could buy them and return the ones you don't like. It's always nice to try something in house.

I'm leaning towards the Empteks. I'm somewhat skeptical about the RTi12's since I heard my co-worker's RTiA7, and they sounded just as bright as my Monitor 70's.

As everything in life, it depends. Sound wise IMHO they are about the same, only thing to consider is the cabinets are different and that is going to be just preferences. You already have the most recent series. And, what happens if you don't like the RTi's after they are at home.

For around $200.00 and if it was me, I'll keep the RTi A's...........but once again that is just me..........and by now, you should know I'm crazy!

Tough decision. If the 9's are in cherry, then I'd be tempted to keep them...they sure are Purdy.

I have almost that exact setup and I grin ear to ear every time I pop a movie in, listen to tunes, or fire up some games. The good thing about taking your time to accomplish it is that you can continually look for deals and piece together your setup along the way (you're off to a good start). The amps you're looking at can be found second hand quite frequently for a few hundred off of what you listed (along with a transferable warranty). I lucked out and got all my speakers for half price through the friends of Polk sale. Just be patient and ready to grab a piece when it's at an unbeatable price.

I started with A7's, A3's and the A4 and while I'm not going to say the upgraditis bug won't hit again, I am thoroughly impressed with what I have now and can't find many reasons to upgrade (aside from adding a second/bigger sub of course). With my prior setup, I always felt like I wanted/needed a little more. I wouldn't settle on anything if you don't have to - cause your bound to upgrade it in the future if you do.

Got the QSC amp yesterday and fired it up. No problems other than that loud arsed fan and the blinding blue light. Can't tell the difference in sound from the Emo. Just have more headroom now which is what I was looking for. Thanks for the fan offer Gus but they are pretty darn cheap so I went ahead and ordered one. Once that fan is replaced and I cover up that light I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks Gus. Yeah, I've always liked the looks of the 12's for sure. If my son hadn't scored such a good deal on some used LSi25's he'd probably jump on those at Fry's.

or... you can take your new amp apart and replace the LED with one that has a lower lumen rating and diffused. biggrin.gif
