or... you can take your new amp apart and replace the LED with one that has a lower lumen rating and diffused. biggrin.gif

I like to use masking tape followed by duct tape to prevent the sticky mess.

I really want them. Too bad I had to spend that much on tires for my car.

They do work great for surrounds. Then you'll think "what if I got the 6s" like I did lol.

I had a hard time telling the difference and I saved a ton of money by switching to RTI.

So, I got home after buying my wife a 2007 Honda Pilot fully loaded, and I am now ready to buy the RTi12 only to find out that they are back order with an unknown time of arrival. eek.gif

She gets a new vehicle and you get RTI12s. Sounds unfair.

So, I called Emptek to order the speakers, and the ETA is around Dec. 26th eek.gif I was hoping for something sooner than that, but Brain explain to me that they build them as the orders come in. So, I told him to keep the order in place and I'm going to see if I can get anything else sooner than that.

So I ordered the RTiA5's from Polk yesterday.  The confirmation letter said I would get an email with a tracking number.  No tracking number.  Instead, I got these today!

I'll take two pretty boxes over a tracking number any day of the week.  My center (from Frys) was delayed in shipping, so that won't come in until Monday now.  And I'm not setting anything up until I can set it all up (LCR) so the wife can hear the entire upgrade effect.  At least that's my plan right now.  I many not make it through the weekend!

I'm no obsessing over subs.  Ugh.  Will it never end?  :-)

Sweet! What state are you in (besides euphoria that is) to get your speakers so fast?

I'm at the North end of Los Angeles.  I believe they shipped from San Diego.

Ahh that explains it. I get mine next day as well as I live just above San Diego but born/raised in Los Angeles area. Hurry up and set those bad boys up so we can rock the whole state. LOL.

Hey guys, I want to start using banana plugs for my connections but I have a question. I know the style to use on the speaker end and also the mains on my receiver, but the surrounds and the center on my receiver are spring connectors. Can I use the type of banana plugs on those that have longer more flexible ends...kind of looks like braided wire? Also, is monoprice the best ones/price to use?

Got the 15" Titanic kit built this afternoon. I'll post pics later, but quick question: Should I leave my fronts (70s) on full band despite adding the sub, or set them at 40Hz? Leaving center at 60 and surrounds at 80 for now, at least until I get the 30s mounted on the side walls...

Personally I love Monoprice. Take a look at these.

+1 for monoprice 'nanners, but I prefer these. They fit most spring connectors, including the ones on the 15" Titanic driver in the sub I built today.

Ok, so those are the two types I'm looking at, but would the one's Migraine24-7 linked to be ok to use on spring loaded clips on the the receiver?

According to the specks the small dia. is .386 so a little over 3/8".  That might be too big to fit in the hole. Some of those with spring clips aren't very big. I'd measure it first. It looks smaller than that in the photo.

I have some of these I've used in those spring clips in the past. Pretty pricey though.

I agree with your choice. It's actually what I use myself but I don't think they work well in spring clips. IMO

Wow, leave it to Monster to charge twice as much for 1/5 the product.

I got those on sale at Radio Shack some time ago for 1/2 price. Still not cheap but it was convenient at the time. It is a decent product though. Just overpriced.

True, they do bow out in the center of the plug. It depends on the spring clip I guess. The ones that pull in and out to reveal the hole in the shaft (that sounds wrong...) seem to fit the kind we like. The old-school spring clips that are just holes where you depress the button below the hole...these plugs won't fit those.

So I only took bad cell phone pics, but it's better than nothing?

Titanic MK4:

Amp:

Cabinet and Foam:

Foam Installed:

Then the Amp:

Then the feet:

Then the poly (2 lbs of it, and yes, I actually did fill it up, but two pics is enough):

Almost done:

Done:

And it's AWESOME! I can't believe the difference it makes.

Also, for those of you who actually read my previous posts waffling about what sub to get (yes, I'm foolish enough to think there are such people), I ended up buying the 12" Titanic instead of the Rythmic, SVS, or others I was considering. And then, through some sort of twisted alchemy, the 15" Titanic kit arrived on my doorstep! And I'm loving it! Guess I picked the right one...
